For a long time, the world has made it difficult to just sit down and write..
I mean- there are jobs to do, places to go, people to see and a myriad of other seemingly important, but tediously mundane tasks to carry out..
Now,
There is quite a bit of irony that I’d like to share with you since my profession personally is as a writer..
More specifically a copywriter,
Who are the guys/gals working behind the scenes to craft up everything from advertising campaigns, video scripts, and even entire silver screen flicks..
You have to understand though,
That these people (myself included) are the absolute enemies of freewriting..
Our writing is so rehearsed, structured, and scripted that it would make a speech of any G20 President seem like an urban freestyle dance-off..
The problem lies in the fact that,
We have clients to please, narratives to follow, and results to obtain..
By following a tried and true formula,
The effective copywriter can simply plug-and-play words into a document, submit it, and watch money pour out..
It is not at all dissimilar,
To someone who has cracked the code to a slot machine in a casino..
Yet herein resides the problem,
Since the freewrite is supposed to be a totally unconditional piece of writing with no outcomes attached..
While the Copywriter bangs out word after word with extreme care, mental clarity, and possessed purpose,
His cousin, the Freewriter, lets it all fly out naturally from the heart without any expectations in mind..
If copywriting is a high-income skill that pays the bills,
Then freewriting would be an art that unites the world that’s apart..
Let me know your opinion in the comments..
Is the hive platform big enough for both copywriting and freewriting to exist?
