I owe you guys.
I owe my followers, I owe the platform, I owe the new folks who have come on to Steem over the past week and made awesome Intro Posts that I just plain haven't gotten to see.
I knew when we came in to the New Year that things would be a little hectic. I took a promotion at work that was going to require more time and effort. We have a big conference coming in to Nashville this week and volunteer hours are eating in to my time, and cleaning up from the holidays is a bit of an ordeal as well.
To Be Fair, I did Warn You
I did say I thought it would be the weekend before I had time to get to a Fresh Five. But now, Saturday is gone and I still have nothing to share with you guys.
So this is my I.O.U. to you guys. I am going to TRY to dedicate a portion of my Sunday to getting down in to the Introduceyourself tag and get another Fresh Five put together for you. I have a thought to actually do a double edition and try to do 5 within the 24 hours of Saturday into Sunday, and find Five for Friday into Saturday.
This is a Hope, Not a Promise
I believe in the Fresh Five. I believe in the mission of welcoming new Steemians who show promise in a way that makes them feel welcomed, and if I am lucky, also makes them feel empowered to really dig in to Steem. But I also know that time is at a premium. I still struggle with time.
So I will do my best. I will get you a Sunday edition if I can.
Considerations for the Future
If I continue to find myself unable to fulfill my duties with the Fresh Five, I may see if it is a project that someone else would like to consider taking over from me. So be thinking on if you feel like the Fresh Five is a project you'd be interested in taking on. I can promise my full support if and when I pass it on. That means pretty regular resteems and Full upvote from me which is over $5 for as long as @fulltimegeek continues to delegate Steem Power to me. So it is not a project without some reward potential.
Those who have followed me from the beginning know, this is not the first time I have considered if I have time for this project or not. You also will note that I came back with a pretty good run of Fresh Five posts. I hope to be able to give you the same result this time. But I do have to admit, as much as time was a struggle at that point, it is even moreso now. Particularly, the job requirements of my new position are way more time intensive than in my previous position. I actually have Sales Goals now, and that's daunting.
As the great So-Crates said "The man who knows everything, knows that he knows nothing."
I know a few things. The one thing I do know is that I don't know what the future holds for me on Steem. I know I intend to continue to work on user retention in Steem to the best of my ability. If that is by continuing the Fresh Five, or some other retention initiative, we'll see.
Sometimes, all we can do is pound of the floor and scream our frustrations...
So while we figure it all out....
Times are tough and its okay to take a week off or two or three. Steemit will always be here, the newbies will always be coming in , and you will always find ways to give back. SO take it easy! Thanks for all that you do. I do try to support you in your efforts, so your are not alone. I've taken a step back too.
I know we've had this conversation before, but I really am happy to take this on... especially now I was intending to spend more time in the IntroduceYourself tag anyway. I know I don't have the SP to really give new users the vote you were giving them, but I could at least cut down a fair whack of the leg work.
What if I do one or two next week to see how it goes? Would you be cool with me using that super happy image for consistency sake?
Everyone should consider followers expectation. Because there i thing a vast platform to share experience and create trust each other. To be honest most peoples didn't do this. They're taking it sometime professionaly but not from passion.

Work comes first, but your initiatives are really great and supporting minnows is crucial if all want this platform to keep growing and it's a kind and human thing to do, I really appreciate it!
Unfortunately I won't be able to help myself as I'm a Med student with no time to spare, but I do wish you luck and success in finding someone willing to do that job here at steemit for you and having the time for it.

Three suggestions:
As a successful business owner, sometimes the hardest thing to do is say no, but at the same time the best thing you can do. I am in the process of trying to simplify things myself. It sucks feeling like you let some people down, but doing what is right for you and your family trumps everything else. My point is, I was super appreciative of being featured in a top 5 post from you. I like seeing the other posts as well, but if things have to change do it and feel good about all the help you have given.
This is just awesome... And I have a particular fondness for Bill and Ted GIFs, LOL!
Take it easy man and don't burn yourself out. While we appreciate all your hard work you do for this platform, family comes first, so I'm sure most will understand.
IOU too! Being picked by you as one of the Fresh Five last December was one of the greatest Christmas gift I have ever received. Through your initiatives, doors of friendships and opportunities opened for me. I was able to become a part of a team which support minnows like me.
Luckily, I am more guided as to how to go with Steemit as I have the best support system. Thank you so muchfor acknowledging my presence and for giving my posts a chance to be noticed!
