There is something else which is deeply disturbing about porn. I feel it is good to put this into an extra post.
A comparison between the way how Evola descirbed "traditional Sex" in his book "The Metaphysik of Sex" (and similar ideas by Aleister Crowley, Rudolf Steiner and some anarchists) is enlightening and disturbing.
Evola and the other authors described traditional sex as an activity where "orgasm" is not the main goal and the orgasm is actively delayed and the ejaculation is often even prevented.
Traditional sex according to Evola is not to "lose pressure" of any kind, but instead heighten the tension and pressure to the highest possible levels. (Even by help of things like Psylocybin, like Terence McKenna described. )
And now, look at modern porn. This is basically the complete opposite of that. One aspect is the topic of "watching porn to lose tension", and then the typical way of the sex act in the porn, which is basically to do the act in a way to get to a spectacular "money shot" in the shortest time possible. Sex in porn is nothing about "enjoying the moment", but doing it so it ends as fast as possible.
With that, Sex is basically degraded to an act similar to "taking a shit".
And now, to the really disturbing fact. Alexander Dugin said modern porn s not a revolt "of sex" but "against sex". Could he be more right than he thinks?
Sigmund Freud said that next to the sex drive "Eros", there is a force counteracting the sex act: The death drive of Thanatos.
According to Freud, Thanatos main goal is basically to get rid of any tension and create a situation calm, free of any tension. It is called "death drive" because the biggest way to end tension in the human mind is to kill yourself. But another way the death drive works is pointless extreme aggression.
And now, with that in mind, is porn really working "for the sex drive"? Not really. Modern porn culture is instead in service of the death drive.
And interestingly, Freud said that another function of the death drive is to reduce human activity and to sever connections between other humans (while the sex drive forces humans to forge connections).
Isn't that exactly what porn does? Preventing connections to other humans?
And interestingly, many people in the nofap movement said that after they stopped porn, they were less lethargic and more active in their life. This completely fits within the description of the death drive.
Freud also said that one expression of the death drive is extreme anxiety and interestingly, many people in the nofap community said that stopping porn helped them to gain courage.
With that in mind, modern porn consumption is basically in service of the death drive, and because of that, it is not erotic, but anti erotic and anti life.
