@nat-expressions recently started a weekly challenge called #fridaysrock! And while Friday's really do rock, the challenge is to share your favorite rocks and minerals.
Today I want to share my slab of Tiffany Stone that was cut by my favorite and very generous rock hound friend @rt395. I learned from Erik that Tiffany Stone is very rare.
Isn't it a great color?
Also called Opal Fluorite, Tiffany Stone is only found at one location on Earth, on Spor Mountain, in the Brush-Wellman mine in Utah. It's a remote location on the border of the Utah Badlands
I believe Erik still has some Tiffany Stone for sale in his Etsy shop.

I can't wait to see them!
Thank you so much for joining in on #fridaysrock. Very cool rock!!! I have never heard of Tiffany Stone. Lots of interesting things going on in that.
wow, @melinda010100 this is a very interesting rock. So beautiful. I never heard of it.
I think the name is very fitting! It is so beautiful. My photos do not do it justice.
Amazing colors, looks like a stone sponge.
Thanks for letting us know where to find it, maybe ill plan a trip out there one day.
It sounds like Utah is a great place to go collecting!
@melinda010100
Yeah Utah looks amazing, I would be worried about the Uranium in the mines though.
Tailings piles are my kind of rock hunting... I have never liked being underground! Even tunnels on the highway freak me out! 🙄
@melinda010100
Tailings are good places to search, I see alot of people doing that at Graves Mountain. Hah yeah tunnels can kill, I try to stay out of areas that can cave in.
Is Graves Mt. In Georgia?
@melinda010100
Yep sure is, in Lincoln county.
