My friend told me I am old

The generation today is kind of commitment phobiac. Earlier, things were different, people wanted a secure job, settle down, marry, have kids etc etc. Presently, young boys and girls are more into one night stands, friends with benefits, following passion etc. I have seen that people don't want to marry.

My friend, around 32 years old now, was teasing me on how old I have become. He was bragging about how cool his life is while I am being a stay at home mom cleaning the mess that my kids make. I casually told him that he was old enough to make a commitment and he should see someone seriously. He went bonkers at my suggestion. I am grateful that we were conversing over an app because if I was actually meeting him in person, I would have been killed.

He hated the idea of marriage. He said he is happy and is enjoying his life. He doesn't want to see himself tied in clutches of a relationship where in he would have to consider the choice of his wife and kids before his.

We are almost of same age group, but our mentality differ so much. It actually made me wonder is I have actually become old 🙄.
