Can Online Friends Stay Together Forever?
That answer... is complicated.
You wish you and your online friends can be together forever, because they accept you for who you are, and how great you are at the game. You may believe that friendships will last forever, or they don't. You can meet in them in real life, or you hang out on the global chat of some game.
But...
What if you only talk together over the internet and never meet each other in real life? Is it still considered a friend to you? "It probably won't last forever." Is probably what you're thinking right now. But, how did you meet each other in the first place, it was your will and desire to play that game right now that caused you to play and meet with each other. Then, you're thinking, "That's because I, live the world of the internet!"
So do many other people, they spend their days in the internet and thinking that they don't have a life to live. So, instead of showing up to a party or just at the local park to play a casual game of basketball, they/we use the many free applications such as Kik, Skype, Discord, and even the in-game chat, it's endless! That's how we meet online friends. They like your false image YOU put on them, and that, false image you've created, will create some issues in the future.
Why don't our friendship last forever on the internet?
Before we answer this questions, we must look at our real-life friends. (Assuming you have one. *cough cough*) Let's go back to the school years shall we? High school, middle school, elementary school, they were the first place you met friends. Even if you were a jock, nerd, the weird one, the shy one, there was always one person that accepted you for who you were right? As time goes on, there may be fights that happen between you two. Perfectly normal, I tell you, that's what makes a friendship last forever to some degree. Because you went through an experience with someone close. Or, that disagreement ended up costing you your friendship. That is nearly the same thing with online friends, or, they've found other friends to replace you. And, that ruins your friendship with each other. However, that is not the only reason.
Your Crush, and theirs.
Yes I'm saying that your crush may be the reason of downfall between you and another person. There's just that one girl/guy that catches your eye and before you know it, one of your friends has their eyes set on that same person you were interested in. Once your friends find out that you have a crush one that same person, a competition sparks between the two of you and boom, there goes your relationship. And you find out that special person has taken an interest in you too. Let's not forget the fact that crushes happen over the internet too.
Failure
But let's suppose that you asked your special apple out, but she/he says "No." Without a doubt, you want to isolate yourself from your friends, family, and even yourself, you basically ignore the entire world. You begin to lose it all (or not) and destroy your friends and be manipulated by the Emotion of Depravity. That is where you find the internet, where you can literally, start a new life.
Now to answer our questions, "Why don't our friendship lasts forever?". The answer is already there. Everything that happens in life, reflects in the online world. And it starts, the moment you were brought into the world. No matter what we do, it is unavoidable, we are trapped in our own world.
Resolution
Look for the problems before it happens. A stitch in time saves nine. You probably don't want to face the future. Regardless, it will happen, it's fate, destiny, or whatever you may call it. Be prepared for the future, when that day comes, someone (you) can stop your friendship from breaking up. You may disagree with me now, but this comes from personal experience (most of it)
