"Black and Blue"
This is my entry to this week's FruitsandVeggiesMonday Challenge hosted every Monday by the lovely @lenasveganliving.

The title of my post is "black and blue" for theblackberries and blueberries photographed, though I never understood why blackberries are named blackberries - they are clearly a dark blue color. Someone must have been colorblind! These are two of my "berry" favorite fruits. Not too sweet, extremely tasty and equally nutritious!
Did you know blueberries are the only fruit native to North America? Fun fact of the day!
"Berry Good for You "
It's so important to eat plenty of fruits (and vegetables) every single day to ensure you're getting a mulititude of healthy vitamins, antioxidants, flavanoids and fiber, as well as immunities against diseases.

Two of my absolute favourites in one picture! Looks so delicious! Are they fresh from your garden perhaps?
Thank you for the compliment! No, these were not homegrown. I haven't tried to grow any berries in my weird Midwest climate. Have you had any success? @megntegibjaerg
Are you from the Midwest USA? How is the climate where you are? Berries grow all over the place here :) One of the good things about Denmark and Sweden. Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries; all the berries :)
Ah, Sweden & Denmark! My kind of environment!
Yes, I'm in St. Louis suburbs. Our Spring is short. Summers rain too much, then we have droughts and excessive heat periods. Maybe I'll try to grow in flower pots so the birds abd squirrels can't get to them!π

How sweet of you!! @pixresteemer
Thank you so much Dear Nina for this beautiful blue entry and very interesting fact.............I had no idea. I though all berries are native to North America πππ
You are very welcome, Lena!πππ
I'd love to see the delightful edible art creations you would make with these berries!πππ I was not aware of the blueberries heritage either @lenasveganlivingπ
Even though I love to make fruit creations, sometimes they are beautiful just the way they are πΈππΈ
Amen to that, Lena! Nature's jewelsπππ
Great post never been a fan of blackberries but have blueberries as part of my breakfast every day
They are terrific - even my dog likes them!π
:)
I love berries, and blueberries are the best! I just bought some blackberries and they are so sour :(
That's unfortunate! Maybe slice some apples or bananas to eat with themπ
I had no idea that blueberries are the only native fruit. I would have guessed some of the bramble type berries were, too. Your photos are so beautiful, Sis, and I love your clever title!
The article said that cranberries, blueberries and Concord grapes are the only indigenous fruits of North American. Guess the wild berries didn't rank! Thank you, Melinda!
So healthy so yummy π beautiful pics sending you a big hugβ€οΈ
Mm, delicious and such inviting photos:-)

Two of my favorite fruits! I eat mixed berries on my cereal every morning! I always pick wild blackberries when I am home in Scotland!
