On a hot summer Sunday afternoon everybody craves a cool refreshing drink. I sat on my window, reading or looking outside into the incredibly blue sky and checked in my minds eye what in the kitchen and in the fridge could make an appealing combination to quench my thirst and hydrates my body.
The day before I bought this beautiful white currants and there was a pomegranate waiting for its task in the fruit basket.Β
With my siphon I turned plain, cold tap water into fizzy water. I mixed two teaspoons of elderflower sirup, two tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice and some fruits in a glass and filled it up with the sparkling water. Ice cubes would have been nice but weren't available. Some lemon balm leaves to add something green, for the nice taste and for the fancy look - Ready!Β
I continued my quiet afternoon in my chair by the window ... βοΈ

The truth is that it looks quite juicy and refreshing, I imagine you lasted a few minutes thinking about a good combination to be able to eliminate this craving. The only thing missing was a pair of ice, but it is the least.
Every time I realize more that Sundays are days to relax, to forget everything for a few hours. And to put that stomach to work! At least I am one of those who eat a ton of sweets :). Accompanied by this drink would not come at all bad!
Yes, I missed the ice cubes too but we only have a tiny freezer and I don't want to waste room for ice cubes. A better option are frozen fruits like raspberries, grapes or other to cool your drinks.
How I like these simple improvised ideas that make enjoyable moments of life in an easy peasy way ...! ;-)

They are so beautiful! They always remind me of these small delicate under water creatures that are so translucent that you can see all their organs. Both are a miracle of nature.

Looks so nice and refreshing! I love fresh currants during summertime, not to mention how much they contain vitamins! I'm waiting for the currants to ripen here in Finland as wellπ
I love all sorts, the red, the white and the black. The white are relatively new to me. They taste like the red but less sour to me.
The white ones are apparently quite rare compared to the red and black ones, since there are very little amounts of white ones here too. π€ The taste is different but still all of them are delicious!
Currants and pomegranate are a beautiful combo - I can imagine how refreshing that must have tasted!
You definitely awakened my hunger for pomegranates now, they always remind me of surfing in Morocco, where I spend my last year's winter holidays - flavor-bursting pomegranates on all those colorful fruit stalls π
