An event occurred back in March of 2011, it was an earthquake near Japan which then caused a tsunami which then cause the destruction of 3 "clean energy" nuclear power reactors which resulted in a full meltdown of these reactors. These reactors were also conveniently located right near the coast of Fukushima Daiichi which, for past 5 years now has been leaking radioactive material to freely flow into the Pacific Ocean. You may have heard about the event back in 2011 when it happened but you probably haven't heard much about it since then. The Japanese government and the TEPCO corporation didn't really want to talk about it much nor disclose the severity of this most disasterous event. However, let it be known this is probably one of the most environmentally disastrous events that has ever taken place.
To sell us on the idea that nuclear energy is "clean energy" is utter bullshit to the Nth degree. First of all, even if there isn't a major disaster causing a Chernobyl type of event there is still the issue with nuclear waste that comes just from the normal and proper functioning of the plant. This waste is highly dangerous radioactive material that then needs to stored somehow, somewhere for oh 1000's of years.
So, for the past 5 years, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, nuclear, radioactive water has been flowing into the ocean. It has been difficult if not impossible to clean up the site because just going near it will kill you more sooner than later from the exposure. Sure it was news at the time of the earthquake and maybe even for a few weeks after as they tried to report on the damage to the plant but for the most part for the past 5 years you really haven't heard much about it and unless you go looking for information about it you probably won't.
Well here's an article I just discovered from theusualroutine.com or T.U.R. that has a nice write up and a few videos to help get you up to speed on why sea life in the greater area is all dying.
