If you're here first, you might wanna check out number one in this series.
This is the second installment in the 'who is the best superhero' post series, I think we should get on with it .
2.SPIDER-MAN
Number 2 on this list is another icon hero and maybe the most popular hero there is, every know him as friendly geeky Peter Parker, but when danger is about there's almost nothing spider-man can't do when he puts his mind to it, not just is he one of the most well-known heroes but his story is a very relatable one, not a lot of heroes have homework and chores, but he manages to do all the things a normal teenager does, keep his identity secret, and still be a kick-ass hero while doing it (granted he messes up from time to time), but lets get to his specifics A.K.A powerset
Spider Physiology: Peter Parker possesses the basic powers of a spider, which he got when he was bitten by an irradiated spider. Peter's DNA was mutated from certain exposure to certain frequencies of radiation, having complex mutagenic enzymes from the radioactive spider's blood, triggering numerous changes that granted him superhuman strength, speed, toughened flesh, and wall-crawling. This resulted into a mutation that granted him an "enhanced chromosome pattern". This is basically telling us that he just has spider software in place of his human software, but still retains the same hardware.
Wall-Crawling: Spider-Man can stick to whatever surface, no matter how rough or slippery. Although even he still doesn't understand how it works, he believes his molecules somehow bond to the surface of whatever he wills. Once he does cling to a surface, nothing can pull him away unless he releases his bond. This is one of his more well known powers, in every other panel if he isn't swinging, fighting a bad guy, or fawning over Mary Jane, he's stuck to a wall.
Superhuman Strength: Spider-Man has the proportional strength of a spider. This allows him to lift 10 tons or more (especially when its one of those end of the world type scenarios), which makes him do even crazier stuff.
This is him lifting a train car( those are about 50-70 tons)
Superhuman Speed: Spider-Man is as fast as any Olympic runner, if not faster.
He's so fast that a team of X-men, including nightcrawler (who is a teleporter couldn't tag him)
Superhuman Stamina:Spider-Man has exceptional stamina . He can physically exert himself far longer than the average human before slowing down due to tiring.
Superhuman Durability: Spider-Man is able to withstand a lot of damage, most of which would kill any normal human.
This is a series of panels from Avengers VS X-men #9, the avengers are fighting against a pheonix empowered Magik and colossus, and are losing horribly, spider-man sacrifices himself to allow the others escape, and then proceeds to get the crap beaten out of him by cosmically enhanced versions of Magik and colossus, that kind of damage would end the life of a lot of other heroes, or scar them for life, but spider-man lives through it.
Superhuman Agility: Spider-Man is extremely agile.but not just by human standards , but compared to other superhumans too.
.
here's a panel of him evading wolverine's attacks.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Spider-Man has an accelerated healing factor, his body can fix in days what would take a normal humasn weeks.
Foreign Chemical Resistance: Spider-Man is extremely resistant to things like poisons and other potentially harmful substances.
Superhuman Equilibrium: Spider-Man has near perfect balance and coordination. He seems able to adjust his position by instinct on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow.
Superhuman Reflexes: His reflexes are a lot more enhanced than those of a normal human, he currently reacts 40 times faster than a normal human. when used with his spider-sense, his reflexes allow him dodge even bullets.sometimes he even dodges bullets without using his spider-sense.
Superhuman Jumping: He can cover great distances in single jumps, just like spiders do.
Spider-Sense: Spider-Man possesses a precognitive 'Spider-Sense' that warns him of imminent danger through a tingling or buzzing sensation in the back of his head that varies in intensity depending on how imminent or particularly dangerous the threat is. Being able to detect anything from flying bullets to tainted meat, and even the well being of others, this extra sense is also a bit of a mystery. It does, however, seem to be a product of some kind of psychic ability.
I'm gonna add some more panels with some general info about the webhead.
Now that we're done with what he can do, lets go over who he is, and what makes him deserving of the #2 spot on this list, Peter Parker's life began with tragedy at a very early age, both his parents died when he was still a little child, so he had to stay with his uncle and aunt, the tragedy didn't stop there, as the day he got his amazing power's was also the day he lost his uncle, and he learnt his most important lesson 'with great power comes great responsibility'. After his uncle died, things were really rough for him and aunt May, I mean not like they were rich before he died, but it left a big BEN sized whole in both their lives, peter could have chosen to resort to crime and get easy money, I mean, there's a short list of people who would really have a chance to stop him if he put his mind to it, but instead of doing that, he picks himself up, whips up some web-shooters, and starts inspiring hope to the people of Newyork by showing them that no matter who they are, someone out there has their backs, he even goes on to work for the man who hates his superhero identity the most, he still goes to school, does his homework, helps aunt may when she needs him and has a job as a freelance photographer, I can barely cope with school alone!, but amidst all this and even as the years go by and he gets better at what he does and gains more popularity with the people, he never forgets his true ideals or compromise in the face of evil, there might be a lot of other stronger and more powerful heroes out there (Sentry I'm looking at you), but no matter what Peter Parker will always be there to look out for the little guy.
