You know when you enjoy doing something and even if you stop, you'll miss doing it. That's how it's been for me so here and I made another little house. This time a miniature fairy house fit for Spring. I've also been wanting to make something like this to add a sprinkle of magic on one of my future miniature gardens.
For ideas, I browsed fairy houses on Google search engine and found few that sparked an idea for a simple one. A simple easy to make fairy house for a first timer and of course less expenses for me as well.
🍃Things I used🍃
👉 empty paper towel roll for a base
👉 wood glue
👉 plastic flowers I got for 99c at 99 Cents Store
👉 twigs
👉 knife and scissor
After deciding how tall the little house I would like to be, I started glueng the pieces of twigs. I measure as I go with the piece against the base before cutting it.
I did cut out a little window too after I'm done with the outside wall. Even a fairy house needs a window for a fresher air and of course an access to the outside view.😉 And I decided for a green color for the window to add another color aside from the woody brown.
Flower bought from 99 Cents Store used for the window.
I knew I could find a use of this yellow green flower specially with its curly ends. Perfect for the little window. I cut the curly ends and glued them, continued working on the top and bottom walls as well.
Finished fairy window and outside walls.
Now I just have to work on the door glueng more pieces of twigs. At first I'm having a second thought whether to use a leaf or twigs. But I decided to make it all twigs to give it a camouflage effect.
My imagination is at work and an idea of making a base for a hammock or an outside resting area flashed in. And as I started working on it, more ideas flows in.
Empty straw covered with glued twigs.
Leaf or a flower can be placed in the straw with a wooden bench or wooden bed under it. But I still have to work on that part.
How it looks like inside.
I added a bed/bench inside with a base, upright to help support the roof to a shape I want.
My flower choice for the roof.
Let's take a peek from under.
I am still thinking whether to add extra work for the inside and glue more twigs or not. But for the other piece, it is not fully done yet as I want to add more. I am thinking of adding steps that leads to a tree house.
The finished miniature wooden fairy house. The house is now ready but not the pot and the miniature plants yet.
