Can you solve this Riddle?

Hello Steemians, I am here with a Riddle where you might be intrested. Here is the Scenario:

Five peoples A,B,C , D and E were travelling where they suddenly found out 1000$. They did a discussion to split the money among them. Splitting was done as per the rule below.

As a leader among the group , A gets the chance to suggest the first plan for distributing money among them. After the proposal,each people (including A) votes for "Yes" or "No" to accept or reject the plan.

If the vote is tied or majority of "Yes" , then the money is distributed and if the vote is with the favour of " No" then the A will be killed by four others.

This process repeats with B as leader and leadership is passed to C,D and E(If it gets all the way to E without a passing proposal, E gets the money.)

But Every five wants to stay alive (that's their highest priority), but their next priority is maximizing their personal money. Second, they distrust each other—there are no alliances and they cannot collaborate on a strategy. Third, they are bloodthirsty, and would love to see other people killed if they think it won't affect their own money distribution. Fourth, people has excellent logical deduction skills, and they're aware that everyone has the same skills. For the purposes of the puzzle, we can assume everyone is logical and obeys all the rules.

So, Here is the Question What distribution should A propose to ensure he lives and maximizes his own gold return?
