Go to any party, wedding or church service in Nigeria and you are sure to see a time set aside for dancing. Dancing has many benefits to a person both physically and mentally so I will be writing a short list of how dancing improves our lives.
1. It makes us physically healthier
When you move your body and dance you do a lot of exercise. Your heart pumps faster, your lungs capacity increases, you exercise your muscles and free those locked joints.
- It makes your bones stronger
- It improves the quality of your blood by reducing the bad cholesterol level
- It is is good for diabetic patients as it reduces blood sugar level
- It burns calories, helps with obesity and keeps us physically fit.

Dancing makes blood flow to the brain thereby improving brain function. Mastering various dance steps and moves serves as a great way

Dancers are known to have great self confidence. This make them succeed in various social situations. Having self confidence makes you open to new experiences and improves other aspects of your life to. Dancing at occasions draws peoples attention to you bringing potential for friendship. I know a couple who met in a dancing competition. They are happily married today. And believe me they danced hard in the wedding
4. It serves as a means of fun and relaxation
When every you see people dance, you see excitement. The tension we feel in our everyday life is removed and we free our mind from the worries of life. This helps in relieving stress and prolongs our life span.
Dance at any opportunity you see. Your body will thank you for it.
