1- The english man
Simon Simpleton was born in London, England. His mother was Welsh and his father Scottish. When Simon was eight his mother died. When Simon was ten his father married an Irish women and suddenly Simon had an Irish sister. When Simon was twenty four he graduated as a lawyer and took a job in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is now sixty six.
Why can he not be buried on the banks of Loch Lomond in his favorite village of Luss, in Bonnie Scotland?
**ANSWER**
He can't be buried in Scotland because he is still alive!
2-The California farmer
A farmer in California owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has exactly 12 boughs and each bough has exactly 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to deliver?
**ANSWER**
None. A pear tree does not bear plums.
3-The hotel man
A woman is sitting in her hotel room when there is a knock at the door. She opened the door to see a man whom she had never seen before. He said "oh I'm sorry, I have made a mistake, I thought this was my room." He then went down the corridor and in the elevator. The woman went back into her room and phoned security. What made the woman so suspicious of the man?
**ANSWER**
You don't knock on your own hotel door and the man did.
4-The great escape
A man is trapped in a room. The room has only two possible exits: two doors. Through the first door there is a room constructed from magnifying glass. The blazing hot sun instantly fries anything or anyone that enters. Through the second door there is a fire-breathing dragon. In the room there's a hole in the ceiling, there's also a table and a chair. How does the man escape?
**ANSWER**
He waits for night and goes through the first door.
5- Lost
A flight from New York, carrying people from America, Canada and France was heading towards Glasgow Airport. Suddenly as the plane approached the Scottish coastline there is an almighty explosion. The airplane crashed into the sea close to the Isle of Mull. Where should the survivors be buried?
**ANSWER**
Probably nowhere - it is very unusual to bury the survivors of an accident!
