hahaha, OMG LMAO, that is not what I know a "glory hole" as... Google it, this is the top three things that come up when I do.

HAHAHAHA... It is not one of those or a spillway for a dam lol....

And no I have never googled it before lol!

lmao - when my husband said it, I was like WTF too, lol. But apparently it's a legit use of the word! I also told him, I didn't think it was it.

haha, I thought he was just pulling your chain. lol.

lol - no, I made him show me first...

hahaha, sometimes my hubby tells me things and I am so gullible I believe him. haha.

Reading more about it, it almost looks as if the term was first applied to this one particular instance - and then (sort of) expanded as almost a technical (in-house-type) term for this time of drain! Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, for sure!

Haha I hear ya, it was fun to learn something new and giggle a lot at the same time.

Proof that it exists in this context.

Monticello Dam
Monticello Dam is a 304-foot (93 m) high concrete arch dam in Napa County, California, United States constructed between 1953 and 1957. The dam impounded Putah Creek to create Lake Berryessa in the Vaca Mountains.
Lake Berryessa is currently the seventh largest man-made lake in California. Water from the reservoir primarily supplies agriculture in the Sacramento Valley downstream.
