I just wanted to give you a quick tour of where I work as a medical student I'll be showing you parts of the pediatrics unit, the immunization clinical and also the obstetrics and gynecology wards.
As a medical student we have to wake up very early even before our consultants to head to the hospital. So even by as early as 4am it's normal to see a medical student up trying to read, press their clothes to get to the hospital early.
This is a picture of me and my colleague working in the small side lab in the pediatrics unit. I've seen wonderful things happen in this place one of which was when we nursed a child with stage 3HIV to health (the pictures of our patients are not to be published).
This is the immunization clinical where infants are immunised again various conditions.
This is part of cold chain that protects the vaccines from heat that would destroy them.
This is our countries National program for immunization schedule.
Now moving on to the Obstetrics and gynecology department.
We usually have night calls were we stay till the next day and still manage to show up early. It's really difficult I must add.
This is our main theatre where we performed an ovariectomy of an ovarian cyst.
Hope you've enjoyed this little tour. I'll still be taking pictures and I'd love to let you know how awesome it is to be in the medical practice. It has its rewards and ups and downs
