I've noticed a decent lack of interaction on our steemit page/campaign lately, and I thought I would try to do something to get people engaged again. I really enjoyed the weekly episodic nature of the Ithaqa steemit RPG, watching steemers rise and fall in epic struggles of good vs evil.
I hope there are still enough people here on steemit who actually read these posts enough to comment! The rules are below. If you had a character from way back when, you may hold onto them or reroll a new one, the choice is yours! I'm willing to heal a veteran character 1 Sanity or Power point for being a longtime supporter.

HOW TO PLAY:
Pick A Faction: Investigators, Cultists, or Mythos Creatures (if you haven't already).
Comment below with your faction pick (or your pre-existing character if you have already played before).
Pick a Starting Stat, and mention it in your comment: Mythos or Stamina
As your character wins or loses, your stats will go up or down, and that will add buffs or debuffs to your roll.
I will randomly match two players up via RNG.
I will roll dice (https://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm)
Winner of each match will be sent 1 steem from my account and 100% Upvoted, earning you STEEM after 7 days.
All human characters will have a starting Sanity rating of 5, and every loss will cost 1 sanity point. If you get to 0, your character is insane! Start again! If you are a mythos creature, you will have a starting Power stat of 5, which functions the same way.
NEW RULE: If you roll a natural 20 in combat, you may choose one of the following perks for your character:
Do not suffer a sanity/power loss during your next defeat in game
You can either choose a future plot element (or item for your character) for me to write into your story
You can choose who your next matchup will be
Currently @bryan-imhoff and @javo1096 have an unused perk.
BONUS:
(( RESTEEM THIS POST )) FOR BONUS HIT-POINTS: Random Weapon Generator:
(Example: Hazel [12] / Rat-Thing [8]) WITHOUT RESTEEM BONUS
(Example: Hazel [12] / Rat-Thing [8]+{5 Weapon}=[13])
I will write some fun flavor text to describe the encounter that happens between you and your opponent, and hopefully this will be a fun way to help raise money for the actual comic!

there is a steem built in D20 bot for RPG's... just say @rolld20
That's awesome! I got to see if this will work given I need to have both people rolling with modifiers and such
the way it is done in Steemquest is the players can just do the Dice bot and instantly see what they get on their turn.
You let them know what the modifier is ahead of time.
So example: I attack my opponent with a +3 mod and I see they already rolled a 15 with no modifier, I then roll the dicebot and replies with the comment you rolled a 6....
I know I lost the battle. Giving players this type of feedback can enhance the exp. That is how a lot of people running games on the Blockchain do it.
But its your game do what makes you happy !!!
Shake shake shake, you roll the 20-sided die.
You rolled a 3.
This is really interesting. Found this post while browsing the #art tag, and decided to follow because I enjoy comics art, nostalgia, RPG, and suspense horror.
I'll try playing for a few weeks and see if I like it.
New character: Cultist
Starting: stamina
Sample Backstory
Reverend Calvin Vonderheim could not escape the nightmares haunting him every night. The ghosts... no angels were calling him by name. They would call to him, and guide him through a darkened infinity maze.
Eventually these spirits morphed into a being of pure light he could better recognize. His great grandmother Beazel from Germany became the guiding host of those nightmares. In those strange dreams she was always inviting him to visit her, enticing him as if he were still only four years old, with her cookies and chocolates. With her soft voice the previously frightening nightmares soon became welcomed dreams, and he began to enjoy visiting with his charming ancestor.
She always told him the most vivid tales when he was a child. Horrific nightmarish stories about monsters who kidnapped naughty children in the night. In the dreams, she would reference those same monsters, and call them by familiar names.
"You must re-construct the sanctified alter exactly as I describe. Only then can you cross-over into my beloved arms, and enter the afterlife. Otherwise you will dwell the darkness as a ghost, and become prey to the monsters who dwell in those dark places."
Night after night, the Reverend labored secretly in the twilight hours. Deep in the darkest corner of the chapel cellar he fashioned an alter. The pentacle on the floor was measured to the exact specifications. The candles had to be arranged and always lit in a triangle with the precise angles. A crucifix tipped on its side acted as a conduit to train his meditation through. It would draw in protective spirits and ward away those who might stand in his way.
Words of power were chanted when the moon was at its zenith during the night. Every ritual was concluded with a ceremonial burial. A sacred sacrifice was always provided by burying the dead here in the cellar near the holy shrine. By offering the bones of the deceased, the Reverend believed it would appease the spirits in the great beyond, and offer him greater standing in their ranks on the day of his ascension.
As the town's beloved caretaker of the historical graveyard, there was no shortage of available human bones to allow the Reverend to conduct his secret ceremonies in the night.
In time, he would be prepared to welcome visitors who were similarly guided by these dream visions. Together they would develop a larger network of otherworldly conduits to better dissolve the barriers between the dimensions. A world in which the spirits and flesh could recombine in unison would a world in which their powers could manifest in full. The Reverend and his holy fellowship would become Gods unto mortal men.
Yessssssss! Excellent! Thank you so much for dropping by with such an awesome character! Get ready tomorrow for the RPG to begin!
