Love is one thing we always expect to receive from others. We have been taught, though not formally, that human beings are incomplete souls and need others to make them whole; that love can only be obtained from someone who becomes our soul mate. However, is not the doctrine a bit inconsequential? I mean, it's true that we were created by God as a social being who will always need others, but should we always wait for others to give us love? Does love always come from outside us? Should love be in the form of a lover? This teaching is just a recipe to make our lives miserable. Because by following this teaching, we will always prostrate on the floor of the room and moan in prayer to the Owner of Love to give us the perfect one. Though we know that no human is perfect.
