Fundition proudly presents: @tarc's project: "Appalachian Dogs Need Angels "

in #fundition6 years ago
Since we are in the month of love, what better way to end that month than by showing you a great way to focus your emotions and support. You can finish this month and take some of the love with you to the next one by recognizing an opportunity to become an angel for a group of lovely dogs that are in need of your help.

Today we will present you a project by @tarc that is called Appalachian Dogs Need Angels and is about rehoming 5 of their dogs (they currently have forty-six dogs in residence). Costs are not even that high when you look at them from a crowdfunding standpoint and we are sure that these lovely creatures will be well-taken care off after we all show them some love with our donations.

Tazewell Animal Rescue Coalition, also known as @tarc, operates in Central Appalachia, U.S. They have an admirable goal to rescue and rehome as many of the region’s unwanted dogs as possible, and to offer as many spay/neuter options too. It was founded in 2013 by Rhonda Kay (@rhondak,) and has since then saved the lives of nearly a thousand dogs by pulling them from high kill shelters or by preventing them to enter those facilities. Through the partnership with a New England adoption center, many dogs get new and loving homes but the resources are very high and demanding for those that are living in the center.

5 dogs need your love...

Their partnership requires that every dog is spayed and neutered, on current on core disease vaccines which include rabies, at least two shots in a series of distemper/parvo, and bordetella, that the dog be dewormed with fenbendazole within the previous five days, heartworm negative, and microchipped. That all comes to around $240 per dog and does not include food, housing, or any kind of emergency veterinary care needed by so many of the dogs coming into their care. Five dogs in their residence need transport vetting, and the amount of funds needed is $1,200 USD.

Once they collect the funds, their Vermont partner will book crates with a professional interstate transport service like Howls on Wheels or Lifesavers Rescue Transport. Their long-term goal is to raise enough interest in the problem in their area and funding to launch a revolutionary spay/neuter program designed specifically for the dynamics of Central Appalachia. Success at that level would be newsworthy on a national or even international scale which means that the topic of blockchain technology would also get some coverage and word about our platform could reach many places.

This project has already been recognized by more than 300 Backers and there is still time for you to become one of them so head over to Fundition and show your support with a lovely donation. There are over 20 of their posts with news and updates so you can see how the dogs are doing, what condition are there in and how amazingly the project has been going so far. They will accept any help you can give them, crpyto or fiat donations, upvotes and they will not turn you down if you show up at their doorstep with a bag of dog food in your arms, either.

What @tarc does is hard to explain using such simple constructs that we call words. Their work is beyond that, beyond normal and mundane, beyond regular, usual and what people are accustomed to. What they do is saving lives, real, furry lives that no one else wants to save. They not only deserve our help and support but they also deserve a high level of our admiration, gratitude, and love. Their selfless actions and the amount of effort that is generated daily is something that not a lot of people will be aware of. We are. We know that it gets hard and we know that it gets challenging and that is why we have a special message for @tarc: "We hear you. We hear you and we are here for you."

That's good to see the poor dogs will be adopted by anyone and help from people. I will be one who support this project and give thanks who support funds.

I've met the founder of this project at the Steemfest 3, and I am sure she will be very very happy to read this. She has been working crazily hard for the dogs and won't ever give up on them!

Good work and good luck on raising all the funds you need for relocating those five dogs. It looks like a great initiative!

@fundition team, thank you so much for this. You have no idea what it means to me.

This morning, our transport to New England fell through due to lack of funding. We have more more dogs (not pictured here) who have a once-in -a-lifetime opportunity to find a family that loves them. These are "difficult" dogs who've been here for years with no interest. So you can't imagine how wonderful it made me feel this morning to get the notification about this post. I can't thank you guys enough.

You already know how we feel about you and this awesome project as well as the writer's block. We know how hard working you are towards these unwanted dogs, and we want to show to the world and the steemians how amazing this project is....and hopefully attract new Backers thus new homes to the adorable dogs!
