On September 20th of 2017, Puerto Rico suffered its biggest catastrophe at the hands of hurricane Maria. Our Martial Arts center was destroyed. For more than 20 years our dojo has served as a way for people to develop their health, mental awareness, friendship, social skills and personal defense skills. We had kids and adult’s programs, Aikido, Yoga, Meditation, Weapons Training and served the community of Arecibo in keeping kids off the streets teaching them moral values such as compassion, empathy, spirituality, sharing and most of all friendships. We suffer a big loss. Our mats, fans, electrical system, bathrooms, walls, dry wall, windows and most of our weapons were destroyed. We need a lot of help to rebuild our instructional center. The overall evaluation damage total was more than $10,000 we are trying to raise $6,000 so we can begin rebuilding our center, help the community and to continue making a difference in the lives of our students. Anything you can do to help us will be greatly appreciated. For more information, you can contact Sensei Javier Jerez-López or you can check our Facebook page: Aikido Shiyuukan Dojo del Norte
You are doing a good job dear. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks!
