Multitasking.
Resent research shows that humans on average aren't really awesome multitaskers , yes you can maybe eat while watching or driving while on the phone but as many people claim you don't taste the food as much as when you are just eating or you don't see as many signs when you are driving while on the phone compared to when we are just driving.
But is there an animal who can do both at the same time and be really good at it?
Enter albatross
Yes, you heard it right. Aside from their incredible feat of circumnavigating the globe in less than 50 days ,the albatross can sleep while flying all on their own ( for all of you schmucks saying yes you can sleep too while flying [on an airplane] ) try doing it just yourself, we can't even fly lol.
So how is it possible? Here is an excerpt from an article I found that may be able to explain why it makes sense why they can do it.
They can’t sleep too long on the water or they will be eaten. Therefore, they would need to sleep while in flight. Scientists also believe that certain sleep patterns may allow birds to visually navigate during sleep in flight. However, this will only be confirmed when we can have recording devices that are small enough to be attached to the bird’s brain.
