Hi guys. Wowee, it's getting late. A good night for another #funkyedits. This is an initiative spearheaded by Steemit members @krazypoet and @tattoodjay. The concept is pretty straight forward. You edit your photo in a pretty whacky way and then post up the results. Mine tonight is not a great photo by any means, but it is of one of my favorite moments. When a small pod of humpback whales began breeching outside of Juneau, Alaska.
I was going to spend a bit more time fixing some of the hard lines between color blocks, but then I sorta started liking the clip-arty look of them. It almost started to remind me of vintage national park promotional posters. This was a lot of fun to do because the photo wasn't great to start with. I had to crop a bunch right from the beginning and it was already looking blurry and out of focus. A good one to start getting silly with. lol Here's the original right off the camera.

Awesome pic, I have only been whale watching once when I was a kid... will have to go again sometime when I get a chance
This photo is from my favorite animal encounter to date. I too need to get out there and spend some time with the whales sometime soon.

I live on the BC coast and I have only been able to catch sight of killer whales in my time here. Humpback whales would be a nice change of pace. Nice Share. Thanks.
Oh man! I'd love to see some orcas! We did catch a glimpse of some on this same trip... actually, we were near BC when we did. It just barely broke the water surface though. Just enough to see some of the white.
If you ever take the Seattle Clipper to Victoria you are sure to spot a few.

That's a beautiful edit. As I was comparing the before and after, one thought kept reoccurring: "Boy, I really have no idea how to take a picture."
Your edit could easily be in an advertisement. The snow-covered mountain in the background, nice touch.
Of course, all this is coming from a guy who doesn't know how to take a picture ... so...
I describe myself as "a guy who takes pictures". lol I'm not a photographer at all. Especially this one. It's from 6 years ago now and I've learned a lot since then. I was full blown point-and-shoot at that time.

This is a great capture of the right moment. I've never caught more than the tip of a whale head...;) And the edit brings out the blue sea, the green trees and draws the subject closer to the viewers.
