Why Are Things So Funny?

There are multiple theories on the centrality of what influences us to laugh. A standout amongst most conspicuous is that humour is a way in which we are able to form a connection with people around us and I believe it is since that is one of the strongest ways people make bonds with each other.

Humour has been likened by some people to play fighting. We have the capacity to create such bonds and to demonstrate weakness or engage in play fighting—relies upon individual personalities. So while a few people think that its simple to be hilarious and form relationships with large groups of people, others can only be funny (and therefore intimate) once they’re extremely close to someone else.

Closeness isn't the main part of humour. Many trust that laughter is a means of expressing dominance. A thought embraced by Hobbes and Descartes, among others. Furthermore, however, it's hard to extend this hypothesis to apply to all kind of jokes, there's surely a distinct brand of humour that’s based on a desire to be at the top and feel the self-worth from people laughing at their jokes.

All in all, we laugh at other people instead of with them. Humour is also an expression of culture—some jokes simply will not translate, for example—and can speak to certain characteristics of society.

Some Videos That Truly Made Me Laugh

Here is a video which I found recently. I don't want to spoil anything as it is so funny and giving any prior hints will most likely ruin it.

In this video, you have a man that goes by the name Reggie Watts. He talks utter gibberish throughout the whole thing while sounding composed and making it seem like he knows what he is doing. There is some amazing music that he creates throughout his performance and the way he acts and his mannerism is amazing to watch.

I completely agree, all people have a different sense of humor. And before joking, it's better to think about whether it will be funny to others.
