Movies....

in #funny7 years ago

So being down again, has given me some time to watch all the shows that I had wanted to watch. That was probably a mistake. One of the movies, Kingsman The Golden Circle, the movie was okay, kinda long. It also gave me weird dreams, that was partially due to the pain killers. But, Honestly there were some Tv shows, and Movies that you have to wonder who put up the money to make them. At what point does somebody just not say this is crap and scrap the whole thing. One show was called Hillary, and was a talk show for who knows what, and who knows why. Do not even get me started on all the Hallmark movies, same plot and story, just enter different characters. Then I got into some soaps, and I just can't even believe there is a market for this stuff. I think their time would be better spent volunteering at a shelter, picking up neighborhoods, and definitely helping out the elderly. It is just crazy sometimes, when you think about all the channels and all the work that goes into producing content for them. Kinda like steemit. Some good, some bad, but with the movies it costs money to make them. If anyone is in the movie business let me know how this stuff makes it out.

Sort:

I'm a big fan of scifi, fantasy, and thrillers but I could really do without quite so many 'man soaps'. The Game of Thrones and Sparticus were a couple that I could like a season of but they were tedious long before they were older and Prison Break and The Young Pope along with other series I can do without.

I have similar taste in movies, scifi, thrillers, fantasy, but I swear that if one more Star Wars episode makes it to the screen I'm going to have to commit vandalism! They aren't getting better, they're just getting more expensive.

Ya I will agree the last star wars movies were like watching a documentary. Really slow and boring.

Soaps are there for a reason, the same as Oprah and other TV shows that keep lonely housewives (or househusbands, if you will) feeling like they are going through the necessary cycle of emotions in life.
It is the purpose of the art of cinema, which is based on selling us illusion and teaching us about desire. It's just that we are different and have different needs.
Hope I didn't sound too philosophical or sarcastic, although I was a bit of both xD

I agree, but I just don't believe they actually make money on some of this stuff. Like I said in the blog, there was this show called Hillary, and I watch for like 5 min just to try and figure out the point. The host struggled with making sentences, and kept repeating herself. Just REALLY hard to watch.

I am a fan of hallmark love story. Some of them good and some are the same storylines.. Anyway, nice post ...

Really, Hallmark probably isn't the worst, but sometimes you have to wonder....

Your time is worth more than these movies, I hope you feel better now after watching some whoopie Goldberg dinosaur flic !

There is so much garbage out there, I can't believe people put there name on it, I would make up a fake name, if I had to put it on some of these credits.

I don’t even both most of the time, unless I’m with some old friends who I have nothing in common with anymore. Then they can be a nice icebreaker, remind us of the good old days when we used to watch stuff like Troll 2

Nice post. Made me laugh. I feel the same way as you do about a lot of movies and shows. TV and most movies have gotten so predictable I cannot stand it. I barely watch TV really. I watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Rick and Morty, and Doctor Who has grown on me in recent years. Not many movies interest me really anymore. The best one I have seen recently was a comedy called The Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe. Funny Thriller really. I suggest it to ya, if you haven't seen it yet. Steem on!

Will have to check it out, I myself am trying to get rid of screen time, except to work, and read news.

I am not a movie maker definitely not. I am also curious on those film makers who made movie which is better to chuck it in the trash can.

Merlin is a good character in Kingsman but it is nonsense the way he died in the movie.

Ya you didn't like his end tune?

hahaha..Yeah it is a little bit sharp in the end lol...

Good ole Dean Cain! Good guy👍

Great post and interesting. I am not in the movie business but it seems like a business that involves in telling interesting stories. Thanks for sharing.

Sadly quality isn't what makes movies and tv shows popular. Films like Jurassic World, Transformers or (and I imagine I could get shot down on here for this opinion) the Marvel franchise are properly bad films and add little to cinema, yet they're the films that make the most money. I guess the same sort of logic can be applied to soaps, where mind numbingly bad storylines, dialogue and cinematography appear to generally be what the majority of people pay to watch! Simple, uncomplicated entertainment e.g. well known giant muscly green mutant slamming a god into a wall is what sells.

It made me laugh. Cool post. HAHA
