Why Follower-Celebration Posts Stink - By the way: I got 275 followers and 50 reputation (that's good, isn't it?)

in #funny8 years ago (edited)
I have anticipated my obligatory celebration post, just in time to realize that these kinds of posts stink. So let's write one anyway.

The Magic Number

Hurray, I have got 275 folowers. The magic number we all know from the fairy tales, like in Snowhite and the 275 dwarves (wait, that actually sounds wrong on so many levels but we will save the reasons for that to another day).

What is really important for a good celebration post: to namedrop people you have been in contact with (even though 99% of your readers have absolutely no clue who these people are and why the heck they should click on their smart-links).

So here we go: I want to thank you all although I have no clue who you all are. I know that @scrooger has a an awesome Scrooge avatar, I know that @fulltimegeek is my bestest MVP in the world with 41% rewards (is it my aristocratic nose?) and I know that @troilo can juggle like a young Hermes before two snakes squeezed his long stick.

Steemit is a bit more anonymous than Facebook. But I like that. I don't feel like I have to put on a mask like Superman when he puts on his glasses and everybody is like "where did Superman go?". Instead I can be myself. Because if you don't like my master pieces than you can go where the pepper grows, like we use to say in German.

Oh yeah, I am German. Sorry for that. We Germans are the least proud nation in the world because of what the Kaiser did as well as that Charlie-Chaplin-in-disguise-guy. We are not allowed to sing our hymn or wave our flag. Except for the Football World Cup, then we are number one in everything, including flag waving.

Right now I am proud that I am writing this text instead of watching the extended seven minute Spiderman Homecoming trailer #3 again, which is basically the whole movie for free.

I actually watched that trailer now after all. Where was I? Oh yes, celebration posts. Hurray, I reached 50 reputation. Another meaningless number that creates a mental orgasm when reached. And the climax continues!

Should I have posted at 100 followers? Or at 250? Or should I wait until 1000? Or maybe I make a post for every single follower I get? Title: Thank you @randomsteemer, you are my 456th follower and I want your baby.

If I only get 1 $Steemdollar for each of these posts I am at $1000 when I reach 1000 followers. That is actually pretty awesome. (Memo to myself: write more celebration posts).

Coming back to the title: Why do Follower-Celebration posts stink? I don't know, I didn't write that. I think they are awesome.

That's it: Follow, Resteem, Upvote and Donate blood, to make the world a better place.

Be proud to be German these days you have a great nation and that comes from an Englishman.

Thanks, kind words. I am actually half-British myself but I was born and raised in Germany.

Yay, @flauwy, congratulations!!! I think it's great to celebrate different follower and other milestones. Sure tons of people do it and folks looking at it are used to seeing it, but it's still special for each person that reaches it and that's really what's important....so I say, go ahead and celebrate. I'm happy for you and sure others are too :)

Did I ever say anything else? hide

You did....but then you didn't.....

You are doing AMAZING! AND we do know each other in real life! Great job! And hugs to your beautiful family.

Thank you. I Hope to see you for the next dance. ;)
