Hello Steemians! Throughout history man has been adapting to his environment, improving his quality of life thanks to his ingenuity and the ability to develop his innovative ideas.
Today I want to talk about one of my many passions and one of the great inventions of humanity.
The Nail
History has left us countless achievements and feats.
From reaching the Moon, round the world by air, land or sea (as Willy Fog) or science, with great medical advances that have allowed us to enjoy a better life.
As I said, men and women have been able to make a quantum leap forward, in technology, science or medicine, thanks to impressive inventions and of all of them, mention has "The nail".
In the first place we will see how the Royal Spanish Academy defines this great invention:
¨ Long and thin metal part, with head and tip, used to introduce it somewhere, or to ensure one thing to another¨.
It must be said that it is a definition of the nail of today, but in its beginnings were other materials like bronze, iron, etc...
At first glance it does not look like much, but for nail lovers nothing further from reality. Let us not be deceived.
The nail dates back more than 2,000 years and was the invention of the moment, with a great reception and repercussion in the Roman empire, mainly because it facilitated the difficult tasks of the art of crucifixion, saving a great amount of time and increasing the level of production .
Before the nail the material that was used to very expensive the work of the crucifixion, it took a lot in the perforation of hands and feet and the bleeding was abundant, which towards a long and cumbersome process, that is why the incursion of the nail was determinant And for the condemned was welcomed with open arms ..
The nail is an invention of great magnitude and utility, which undoubtedly maintains an idyll with man and is in its sweetest moment.
From the nails of Christ to the celebrated and so used phrase of today "A nail brings out another nail" passion and love are evident and have settled in a relationship that progresses day by day by leaps and bounds.
Who does not have a photograph of that special and beautiful memory, nailed to a panel or wall, with a pin (nail family)
Since its discovery in the widespread use of torture and its benefits, the nail has been left behind that bad reputation (tortures, pinch wheels and leave many people in the gutter ...) acquiring functionality and knowing how to adapt to the needs of the day a day.
I have to say that I do not share that theory of bad reputation, for me it is a fundamental part of the history.
Be that as it may, the nail in its many versions has come to stay. So let's enjoy your grateful uses and receive it with your arms ...
Well, seeing its benefits in the golden age of the Roman Empire and the new methods of torture that arose, the nail was losing prominence and had to reinvent itself.
The impalation was eating ground to the crucifixion, by the simple fact of the reduction of costs. It was faster and easier, you can get an idea and that was a serious blow to the future that had been called product of the year by the most specialized magazines of the time.
(Includes in the interior a large and deep article on what to do with the nail and its sensations ...)
Magazines such as "Espartacus" or "Gladiators" were very critical of this impalement boom, but nothing could be done, the tendency was already very strong and although the skepticism reigned in its beginnings, the imminent fall of the empire (for his livin crazy life) and the shortage of funds did the rest.
The future of the nail was in the air and some people thought that would be the end of it.
Paradoxically, the carpentry industry was its great valedictorian and the one who knew how to see the qualities of this great invention.
An image washing campaign was started and the nail began to rebound.
Its great functionality did the rest and until now we can understand the magnitude of that great invention has been.
Coming soon "The nail 2" on the impact of the nail
