I'm an almost total newbie toying with the idea of throwing myself wholeheartedly into Steemit, and to that end trying to get to the bottom of the whole upvoting thing. This is clearly well-informed and thoughtful, and I'm going to devote some time to getting my head fully around exactly what it is you're saying. So far I get that you're one of the good guys, but one who sees no reason why he should suffer on that account - and why should you, while the rapacious ones who treat the platform as a cash cow go right ahead and prosper? As someone who wants nothing more than to post good quality content and get modestly rewarded for doing so, I find it a little depressing to have to concern myself with this other stuff I have no appetite for, but if that's what it takes to get my stuff exposure so be it. Thanks for the insight.
