Is coffee addiction so bad? Are you an addict, too?

in #funny8 years ago

I have been drinking coffee all my life. It's the first thing I do in the morning. No exceptions. If I have to leave home really early (going to the airport, for instance), I'll still sacrifice half-an-hour of much needed sleep just to be able to complete my morning routine, even if it's not morning, but 3 a.m. The start of a new day equals morning to me.
I go through several cups of coffee a day and my coffee cups are scattered around the house, to be washed (or not) when needed. The best part of it is when you discover there's a little coffee left in a cup. Right now I know there's a little more left in the white cup in the kitchen and I will drink it even if it's late at night. Never in my life would I waste coffee! I think it's a sin!

I've never considered myself an addict until recently. I was preparing to go to bed and this thought crossed my mind. "In seven more hours I'll have coffee again!" I could almost taste it... That's an addict's way of thinking I realized.
I was right.
I found this site

and it turns out that I'm an addict, all right.
I was a bit mortified I only scored 7 out of 10. 'Highly addicted' is not good enough. 'Extremely addicted' is the top category, but I don't like energy drinks and apparently it's a drawback... well, what can I do?
What I didn't like is the number of sites that want to help you get rid of this nasty caffeine addiction. I mean I was just googling "coffee addiction" for fun and I'm bombarded with help pages, how to beat withdrawal symptoms, health benefits and stuff like that.
No, I don't want to beat this addiction, thank you very much! I have many addictions and I'm proud of each and every one of them. https://www.caffeineinformer.com/caffeine-addiction-diagnosis

Well written and I agree! Don't take my coffee away!

I totally agree! Don't take my coffee! :)

I only steal coffee from my daughter, but since I do the dishes around here I think it's only fair!
