Well, people may call themselves whatever they want, but that does not change basic biology.
You're right. There is a distinction between "sex" and "gender." Sex is based on the individuals biological traits and gender is a social construct or what it means to be masculine or feminine.
I'm not familiar with the term "Napoleon" in relation to the topic of sex/gender. Can you explain that further? I only know of Napoleon as the political leader. lol
Well, there are people who believe that THEY are Napoleon (as the French general and leader). Usually such people are treated in mental hospitals. In my opinion, the same should apply to all those people who believe they are not from their original sex. Especially as nowadays there are more than 50 different made up genders... well, who is counting anyway... Either way those people suffer from schizophrenia.
Its an interesting perspective.
Since we cannot experience what it is like to be within another individuals perspective, personally I think its hard to make strong conclusions about their perspective.
The concept of gender itself is "made up." Man and woman, masculine and feminine, these are just ideas and they exist on a continuum or spectrum. For that reason, I do not think that we can devalue the other gender ideas.
Yes, there are feminine males and masculine men, but at the end of the day the are still either men or women.
In terms of "sex" I agree with that statement.
Well, "social construct" is a meaningless term.
How so?
It has no application in reality.
I think people who believe in those 72+genders should be quarantined from the society. They are a sick bunch. But I also think individuals have the right to cosmetically alter themselves. In west it's disgusting when they do it. But in Asia I've seen transgender women who are better than 99% of the women I've seen.As long as they have to do a complete cosmetic surgery to be identified as the opposite of their biological sex I'm cool with it. It's individual liberty.
