It's hard to describe - like you wake up the same way you would to a nightmare (shocked/full of adrenaline), except you woke up to stop yourself laughing to death in your sleep.
It's very common, I'm surprised you haven't' heard of it before.
But I've looked online, apparently there's no scientific name for it so I've devised one myself: Felix transitus.
