Why Mexico Doesn't Make Sense πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

in #funny β€’ 7 years ago

In our last video, we asked our YouTube subscribers to vote on which video we should create next. It was a close vote between "How We Make Money While Traveling" and "Things We Still Don't Get About Mexico." In the end, the latter came out victorious.

Well, friends, your wish is our command!

And dare we say it, Mexico is confusing!

In this video, (which we think is hilarious), we address some of the things that we just don't get about Mexico after being here for three months. It may be an internet sensation and go viral......orrrr we might just alienate everybody and lose all our subscribers. What's the verdict? Time will tell.

I found you through @olawalium, and oh man haha I love this video b/c it's so relatable to me!

You'll LOVE this song...it's SO true!!! Even after years of studying Spanish, you'll never speak it because the words are different everywhere you go.

Start at minute 1 of this video, and prepare to laugh:

I decided to respond to your video w/ a video...which is weird for me, I have no idea what kind of travel demon possessed my body and made me do that, but here it is:

Oh, P.S. If it's bad to post videos in the comments, let me know (I don't want to distract from your post in any way) and I'll delete it asap! I might be alseep though, it's 2 am for me now. But as soon as I wake up, I will

Maddie is a case! Hahaha.
You guys totally nailed this. There is no shame in being honest about how you felt and it was based on popular demand too. In new places, there are many more questions than answers.

You both made me laugh with this. It is 2:11am and I didn't regret watching this. Well done guys.

Still counting...yaaay!...

Hahaha, thanks for the compliment! But, go get some sleep, you work too dang hard! There's always tomorrow to watch the video ;)

That reminds me of this guy who commented on one of our videos saying that he saw the notification that we just released a new video. He took his lunch break just an hour after starting work so he could watch it.

Wooooow! That is amazing! . Was it in YouTube or Steemit? That is the positive vibe your video gives everyone. Every one longs to watch it. You always make it entertaining and informative.Well done guys. This is good news. Yaaaay!

Told someone too who commented under Letter To My Unborn II. He said he will tell his friends to subscribe to your channel. Everyone loves it.

haha, that's so great. I have the same problems as you here in the dominican republic and my food background is european, so believe me the differents is much bigger then you have with the us and the mexican cuisin.
Sometimes i m like you maddie, i m flipping out. Then i need a "drago" of somethings alkolics - a what? Just a shot of - a drago what else. very strange.
pero yo quiero este gente aki
hasta luego y gracias por este video

Hahaha, I bet our problems don't even compare to yours! Thanks for watching and following along with our videos and travels!

A very good video would have liked a lot of people. I think you should prepare more vidio. and many people are happy with your vidio.

Thanks a lot for watching and for your compliment. We try to produce as many videos as possible, but it is pretty taxing on us, so we might have to slow down our video production.

It seems like you have a lot of funny experiences there in Mexico, @tangerinetravels. But I just have to say Maddie - you're so cute! 🀣 I can't help but laugh while you tell us your Mexico tales. The way you tell it makes it even funnier! Anyway thanks to both of you for the laughs!

That is the sweetest compliment @everydayart! I'm often not funny at all when I try to be, so whenever it comes out that way, it's a huge "win" for me! Glad it brought some laughs your way! <3

You’re very much welcome, Maddie! ☺️

I personally think of Mexican food as healthier (compared to the US) because the fruits & veggies are less likely to be genetically modified, contaminated with glyphosates or irradiated. Less likely to find HFCS in the sodas, too. Those things are important to me and I’m a VERY long way from being a health nut.
(Looking good to hit your subscriber target).

I couldn't agree with you more on that! And interestingly, I (Maddie) used to have dozens and dozens of food allergies and sensitivities in the US. Within a few weeks of being in Mexico, I was able to reintroduce all but a few of them back into my diet with no problems. I had suspicions that the heavily-processed, chemical-filled, and genetically-modified food in the US might have something to do with my health problems, but it seems very clearly yes now that we're here in MX.

Someone even mentioned the other day how Coca-cola in Mexico doesn't have high-fructose corn syrup and other artificial ingredients like in the US... we were shocked that it's true! Why people in the US have to suffer the wrath of greedy food companies will never be clear to me.

Anyways... rant over! Haha. Thanks for watching our video and leaving a great comment. :)
-Maddie

In the name of β€œfighting obesity” the UK just unleashed a β€œsugar tax” on the British soda industry. Most (possibly all) own-label colas switched to using artificial sweeteners to avoid it (the nasty kind that make HFCS look good). I think Coke & Pepsi might be the only brands that opted to stick with sugar. I used to pay 42p for a 2 litre bottle of own-label cola. If I want to avoid colas with chemical sweeteners the cheapest option I have locally is Β£1.86, a 442% price hike! In Mexico I rarely drink soda apart from the occasional Fresca or Yoli so my Mexican diet is definitely better!

The egg part is funny! Even I wasn't able to follow that one! Lol

Hahaha thanks, we liked that part! We weren't sure if non-English speakers would like it though since there were a lot of Spanish phrases in there.

Oh My! And here I am fantasizing about my visit to Mexico someday... Lol... I still want to learn their language though, even though a lengthy phrase means just two words... Lol...
I couldn't leave a comment on the YouTube channel, dunno why...
Maddie , you're a drama queen... Lol... Thanks for sharing guys @tangerinetravels. Please do try and enjoy the rest of your stay there even during hot days when everyone wear pants instead of short. Lol..... mizdais signing out...

Buen video.

Hahahaha guys this video was great, I'm Mexican and you're right! This time I learned that the kiss cheak is a big deal for you guys jajajajaaj.
We have all kind of different ways to cook the eggs, definitely πŸ™Š.
Which cities have you been here in Mexico?

Lol . In NY we usually kiss everyone on the cheek when we say hello. Maybe not if it’s a business thing. But otherwise yea . I think I kiss just about everyone hello outside of work stuff .

I have to say it again, welcome to Mexico.
I have been living here for the past 8.5 years and the food taste better, feels fresher and the variety of fruits is amazing. A lot of the food is local so that makes it a lot cheaper than in the USA but, I am totally with you guys, Mexican eats quite crazy for me. A lot of sugar drinks and ”chamoy” all over the fruits.
Chamoy is pure junk and sugar drinks also. Mexico has a huge obesity problem and here in Merida is the #1 place for kids that are obese. They eat a lot of junk. Sad but true. The Mexian candy is junk but their chocolate is amazing, especially the one from Chiapas.
There are very good options to eat healthy but that has to come from the person. Cosco has a bunch of organic stuff but is not cheap to buy organic here in Mexico. The Mexican eats a lot of pork and β€œManteca”. Their bread is made with β€œManteca”. That junk that it will kill you in 20 years.
Their favorite drink is Coca Cola, more junk.
Resume: Mexico has a lot of natural resources but unfortunately the people does not want to make the effort of eating healthier (they do not have the money) or drinking naturally from the amazing gamma of fruits that Mexico offers.
Theirs is a lot of poverty here in Mexico and I have seen that their dinner is only β€œsabritas” (chips), bread and Coca Cola. Believe or not, is really mess up. Do not get me wrong, Mexico is a great place, great people, but is not perfect like any other place. At least, for me, here in Mexico the quality of life is better and theirs is more freedom here in Mexico than in the US.

i love the heskey dog, how did you guys get him to yawn lol
