N's Joltik & Furret Cards From Pokemon's Battle Partners Set

Hi there. In this Pokemon card reveals post I cover N's Joltik, Sentret and Furret from Pokemon Japan's Battle Partners Set.

N's Joltik

N's Joltik is a weak 40 HP Basic Lightning Pokemon with one retreat cost and Fighting weakness. It has one attack that requires two colourless Energy. Crackling Short does 30 damage with an added Paralysis effect after discarding a Pokemon Tool card. If the target has no Tool card then the attack does 30 damage only with no paralysis.

This particular attacker would not be great outside of a N themed deck. Two Colourless Energy is a bit of a big cost for 30 damage, tool discard plus paralysis.

Even in a N themed deck I don't know if putting one copy of this is worth the deck space. You do have N's PP Up to accelerate Basic Energy to Benched Pokemon. N's Joltik on the Bench can provide additional attacking options for N's Zoroark ex. The paralysis after Tool discard can buy you an extra turn for stalling and/or setting up a knockout for the next turn.

Sentret

Sentret is a Basic 60 HP Colorless Pokemon with one retreat cost and Fighting weakness. It has one attack that requires one Colourless Energy to do 20 damage.

Furret

Furret is the Stage 1 Evolution form of Sentret. It has 120 HP, one retreat cost and Fighting weakness. This has no abilities but two attacks. Scratch requires one Colourless Energy to do 40 damage while Jet Headbutt requires two Colourless Energy to do 70 damage. From a competitive standpoint Furret is not good even though the damage to Energy cost ratio is decent.

Furret has a cute illustration rare card. I expect this to be at least 8 CAD when it releases in English.
