DuckDuckGo vs Google, an epic battle of search engines

in #future8 years ago (edited)

On an average 1 yr time, I use 90 times DuckDuckGo and 10 times Google to search what I need.

I told you! it doesnt tracks you! and it's way faster, and it's for immediate answers and not for making you search deep in the pages, it gives you what you want.

Why?

I know everyone uses Google for anything. Born in 1997, can't be compared with a younger soul like DuckDuckGo born in 2008.

You didn't told me why.

Right! Sorry I was thinking, Google spent all their efforts since they are born to be the best, to include most of the advanced technologies for crawling the web and make their popularity grow exponentially, meanwhile but it tracks you down for marketing reasons.

Tell me why I should use it instead of Google!

DuckDuckGo doesn't tracks you at all, and all it does it gives you the answers you are looking for.

What's the best of it? it's getting popular each day!

Considering that most of you will use microsoft OS - then getting tracked by google is the last thing you need to care about.
And it makes sense to integrate your search history into your future searches, to make the results better fit your searching term.
Google = new world order - and nothing will stop this anyways.

Microsoft is another pain we are trying to fight anyway with Linux, but we are hitting a nice spot converting more and more people.

My only concern is their partnership with Yahoo, which got acquired by Verizon. There is a clear conflict of interest there.

Yahoo wants to recover the insuccess they had over their own search engine, so they had to support an esordient for it.

I like and have been using DuckDuckGo for years. :)

me too even when Im helping friends with their computers they look me strange because I use that and they are like... and google?
