For many decades, cinema (and literature) have represented us, with the exception of the cyberpunk vein, a minimal, sterile, impersonal and cold future. A simular future was already thought decades ago in Space Odyssey and THX 1138.
Often monochromatic environments, monochromatic clothes tend to gray, clean lines and objects without logo.
Many of these technologies (such as the "Ipad" present in the Space Odyssey) have been made and made even more minimal.
But not only the aesthetic aspect was achieved in real life, but also in functionality.
Until the mid-2000s, if you wanted to go on a trip and wanted to take photos, shoot videos, explore the place, look for a restaurant, you had to bring your camera, video camera, paper map (maybe not updated) and have an insecure word of mouth about restaurants.
And maybe take two books with you.
Today you just need a mid-range smartphone (and its charger) to do all this. Simply everything in your pocket.
Recent film work also goes in this direction.
For example, the same Black Mirror a few years ago proposed extremely minimal smartphone models, full screen and with a very simple interface.
All this a few years before (or just at the same time) the release on the market of full-screen models which, however, let's face it, did not fully satisfy us as it is, in the vast majority of cases of fake full-screen.
Even the interiors of the houses, the furnishings, the structures (also in the public) and the large glass windows point towards an extremely minimalist future.!
We know that, in real life, minimalism as an architectural, design and interior form has been gaining ground in recent years.
Often creating a truly minimalist home (they are not like interiors) requires a large amount of budget, which, most people cannot support, maintaining, by those who find themselves in these forms, only an order and minimalism "al limit of the possible "within one's own homes.
Very slowly, even in your cities, you may notice that the various renovations gradually tend to increasingly minimalism and simplification.
You may notice these components perhaps more in the countries of northern Europe, but also in the great French, Spanish, German, Italian cities (such as the Porta Nuova area of the Vertical Gardens of Milan) and in the world.
And what do you think of it?
Will the future be increasingly minimalist?
