Metaverse Simulation Theory

In the future, we will live on the internet—literally. When we upload our minds, our consciousness can be downloaded into the internet. That’s where we’ll live—completely digitally in the cloud.

There could be a world, or a metaverse, where we create our own realities. You could travel anywhere on the internet. See a live music show or a sports game. And anyone could go—for free. Because there’s no scarcity in a completely digital environment. There will be no need for money. Nor will there be time. Everyone would be immortal.

Once you upload, your entire memory will be in a digital file which can be copied onto the internet. We'd have the choice to surf the web, or repeat our memories and relive our life as a simulation. We might not be able to change anything in the simulation, but we could rewatch it like it was a movie. Essentially be ourselves and feel like we’re experiencing life for the first time.

That's what this life could be: our future uploaded selves reliving our lives from the past. Either your own life, or some other person who posted their consciousness publicly online to be re-lived by others.

So I could be you, and you could be me. Then when we die, we return to the metaverse and either surf the internet or choose whose simulation we want to do next.

Interesting theory. Would biological human life cease if we were all immortal conscience created by machines?

I think biological life will exist concurrently with digital for some time before being replaced entirely.
