Nokia 7 Plus is Smartphone of the Year

EISA awards Nokia 7 Plus with Consumer Smartphone of the Year title.

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, is currently celebrating a huge win. The champagne is no doubt flowing as the Nokia 7 Plus has been selected as the Consumer Smartphone of the Year!

The Expert Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) judges have selected the Nokia 7 Plus for this special award. They praised the smartphone for its striking design, powerful performance and impressive imaging capabilities.

What's so special about it? Firstly, the phone boasts innovative optical hardware and imaging algorithms. Additionally, the dual rear sensors with ZEISS optics combine an ultra-sensitive 12MP wide-angle primary camera amd 13MP secondary snapper. With the 12MP unit, you get impressive performance in both low-light and extra bright conditions. The secondary sensor delivers 2x optical zoom for the moments when you wish you were closer. Also, there's the Pro Camera mode which hands you easy manual control over settings such as white balance, focus, ISO, shutter speed and exposure.

The 16MP front-facing camera also sports ZEISS optics. Here, automatic light sensitivity adjustments promise picture-perfect selfies even in low light. Enhanced Dual-Sight harnesses the front and back cameras simultaneously to capture the ultimate 'Bothie' ~shudder~.

Three microphones capture immersive 360° Nokia spatial audio to match your 4K video helping you create content worthy of the big screen.

Finally, it's worth mentioning the 2-day battery stamina of the 7 Plus too.

All of that is wrapped up in a case with gently curved back and slim edges. Up front, in pride of place, is the 6-inch 18:9 Full HD+ display to round things off.

The Nokia 7 Plus will be presented its award at IFA, the world’s largest consumer electronics fair. IFA is held in Berlin and the event runs August 31st to September 5th. Of course, we'll be there!
