The 16th Art Gallery Tour in Gothenburg
Hello all Art Lovers!
This year's sixteenth Art Gallery Tour has ended and this time with four gallery visits. There were two gallery visits on Saturday and the other two had to be a week later.
Grafik i Väst has an international Print Exchange, with a given format of 20x20. The project started in 2009 with only 20 artists but since then over 130,000 prints have been exchanged. This is an annual project run by Hot Bed Press in Salford, England. This year is the first time that graphic designers in Sweden are participating.
Gallery Engleson is visited by Karin Blomgren, (acrylic, oil & watercolor) and Carina Gustafsson, (acrylic, dry pastel & textile).
Gallery 54 had a vernissage on Friday with works by Kristoffer Grip. "Thinking about the comet" is the title of the exhibition.
What is also new is that the gallery has opened up its gallery with a large room.
The contemporary Gallery BOX shows photographs by Emanuel Cederqvist & Sean Gardiner with the title "Paler Ash".
Paler Ash depicts the ash tree and its changed fate due to ash blight, a fungal disease from Asia that is currently spreading across Europe, posing a serious threat to the future of the species.

Årets sextonde gallerirunda har avslutats och denna gång med fyra galleribesök. Två galleribesök blev det på lördagen och de övriga två fick bli en vecka senare.
Grafik i Väst visar utställningen "International Print Exchage", med ett givet format på 20x20. Projektet startade 2009 med endast 20 konstnärer men sedan dess har över 130 000 tryck bytts. Detta är ett årligt projekt som drivs av Hot Bed Press i Salford, England. I år är det första gången som grafiker i Sverige deltar.
Galleri Engleson gästas av Karin Blomgren, (akryl, olja & akvarell) och Carina Gustafsson, (akryl, torrpastell & textil).
Galleri 54 hade vernissage under fredagen med verk av Kristoffer Grip. "Att tänka på kometen" är titeln på utställningen.
Nytt är också att galleriet har öppnat upp sitt galleri med ett enda stort rum.
Samtidsgalleriet BOX visar fotografier av Emanuel Cederqvist & Sean Gardiner med titeln "Paler Ash".
Paler Ash skildrar askträdet och dess förändrade öde med anledning av askskottsjukan, en svampsjukdom från Asien som för närvarande sprider sig över hela Europa, vilket utgör ett allvarligt hot mot artens framtid.
