Welcome to Crownrend, a blockchain, text-based army strategy game that blends resource management, strategic battles, and alliances. This guide will walk you through the basics to help you get started and make smart decisions as you build your kingdom.
Getting Started
Initial Setup:
To play Crownrend, you'll need approximately $10 USD worth of the cryptocurrency HIVE. This will allow you to create your kingdom.
Currencies in the Game:
- Denar: The primary in-game currency, used for upgrading stats and purchasing chests.
- ORI: A secondary currency, used for upgrading items and creating alliances.
- HIVE: Spent to create your kingdom and received from item sales in the marketplace.
Starting Resources:
- You'll begin with 10 Denar, which you can spend to improve your army or domain stats.
- You’ll also start generating unclaimed Denar, which can be claimed every 4 hours.
⚠️ Unclaimed Denar can be stolen through enemy attacks, but once claimed, it is safe.
Army Stats Overview
Your army stats determine your ability to attack, defend, and manage battles. Stat upgrades increase in cost as you level them up. First level cost is 1 Denar, Second level cost is 3.5 Denar and subsequent levels increase by +1.75 Denar each. Here’s a breakdown of each stat:
Stat | Role | |
---|---|---|
Strength | Your main attack stat. If it is equal or greater then the enemy's Toughness you can attack and steal a percentage of their unclaimed Denar, unless your attack is intercepted. | |
Toughness | Your main defence stat. Any enemy with Strength matching or exceeding your Toughness can attack and steal a percentage of your unclaimed Denar. | |
Tactics | Another attack stat. Decreases the chance your attack can be intercepted. If Tactics is equal to or greater then the enemy's Speed, the attack can not be intercepted. | |
Speed | Another defence stat. Increases the chance an attack against you will be intercepted, giving you 5-25% of the attackers unclaimed Denar. | |
Morale | Another attack stat. Increases the chance of landing a critical hit, doubling the unclaimed Denar stolen from the enemy. | |
Leadership | Another defence stat. Decreases the chance to be critically hit, stopping the enemy taking double the amount of unclaimed Denar. |
Domain Stats Overview
Your domain stats focus on your economic strength and resource management:
Stat | Role | |
---|---|---|
Mine Level | Increases your base Denar generation and boosts Tax Efficiency and Trade Power. | |
Vault Level | Determines how much unclaimed Denar you can store before your generation stops. | |
Tax Efficiency | Increases Denar generation rate. | |
Trade Power | Boosts Denar generation but is currently only available via items. |
Domain Stats Notes
- You start with Vault Level 1 which will give you a limit of 5 unclaimed Denar. If you exceed this limit through generation or attacks it will be wasted.
- Mine Level is more expensive as it acts as a multiplier for both Tax Efficiency and Trade Power.
Items
Items provide additional stat boosts and can significantly impact gameplay.
How to Obtain Items:
- Buy chests from your Inventory screen. Chests cost 100 Denar and contain 1 item.
- Buy items from other players on the Marketplace using HIVE.
Item Rules:
- Max 15 items equipped at a time.
- You cannot equip two items of the same type.
- Items can enhance all stats except Vault Level.
- Items can be burned to acquire ORI
- Items can be upgraded using ORI
Item Qualities:
The quality of items affects their power, with better-quality items being rarer.
When buying a chest you have the following drop chances:
Rarity | Drop Chance |
---|---|
Common | 80.349% |
Uncommon | 15% |
Rare | 3% |
Epic | 1% |
Legendary | 0.5% (1 in 200) |
Mythical | 0.1% (1 in 1,000) |
Ancient | 0.05% (1 in 2,000) |
Divine | 0.001% (1 in 100,000) |
Battles
The Battle Hall lists potential targets for attack. Each battle consumes an attack charge, and you can hold up to 8 charges, regenerating 1 charge per hour.
Before Attacking:
- Compare your Army Strength to the enemy’s Army Toughness. Attack only if your Strength ≥ their Toughness.
- Consider the enemy’s Army Speed to avoid interceptions.
Winning and Losing:
- Successful attacks steal Denar from the enemy's unclaimed balance.
- Failed attacks can cost you 5-25% of your unclaimed Denar if intercepted.
Alliances
Alliances allow you to team up with another player for additional strength:
- Creation Cost: 0.25 ORI.
- Benefits: +5 to both Army Strength and Army Toughness.
- Max 2 players per alliance (for now).
Game Play Tips
- Use the Players list to decide what stats to upgrade, check your rank, calculate threats and check what stats you need to build against.
- Use your attack charges within a short time and claim as soon as possible to protect your Denar.
- To see more enemies in the Battle Hall you must increase your Army Strength.
- You can check the Battle Logs in the Battle Hall to check previous battles.
- Ensure your Vault Level allows for 4 hours worth of Denar generation.
- Unclaimed Denar limit is 5 + 5% of all Denar spent on Vault Level upgrades.
- Ensure you have enough defence to protect the extra Denar you will generate. Check the Battle Hall to see how much enemies are able to hold with different defence before they are attacked.
Formulas:
- Denar stolen in an attack is calculated as a random percentage between 5% and (5% + 2.5% per point of Strength over Toughness) capped at 50% (+18 points) and is doubled for critical hits.
- Critical hits are calculated as 2.5% chance per point of Morale over Leadership capped at 50% (+20 points)
- Intercepted attacks are calculated as 2.5% chance per point of Tactics over Speed capped at 50% (+20 points) and will give a random percentage between 5% and 25% of unclaimed Denar to the defender.
- Enemies visible in the battle hall are those with Toughness less then your Strength
- You are invisible (not attackable) to all enemies with Strength less then your Toughness
- Base Income is (0.0001 x Mine Level) Denar per second
- Trade Power Bonus is (0.00003 x Mine Level x Trade Power) Denar per second
- Tax Efficiency Bonus is (0.00001 x Mine Level x Tax Efficiency) Denar per second
- Players can only attack other players once every 4 hours
