What's your view on cleaning coins? I know so many people say to not clean them, but is it really that big of a deal? I'm going through my coins right now. Pennies are sure easier to come by than the quarters and such!

What type of coins are we talking about here?
Water and a toothbrush is your safest bet for collectable coins. For anything else you can clean them with baking soda, water and a toothbrush add some vinegar or lemon juice if you want to put a nice shine on them.
Both silver dollars and half dollars, and the copper pennies.
Water and a toothbrush is your safest bet for cleaning silver coins. I would not recommend any type of abrasive like baking soda or any acid on them, same thing goes for old wheat pennies.
Thanks for the tip! Much appreciated
