I am a big fan of Game of Thrones and recently was browsing the internet to find out when there finally will be the release of season 8 which I was waiting for ages.
The network announced the shocking news earlier today in a press release.
They revealed the show would not be returning to screens until an undisclosed time in 2019.
While there has been plenty of speculation, this is the first definite confirmation from HBO.
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, accidentally let the date slip in an interview last year.
The actress revealed the show would not be airing before the end of 2018.
The news will come as a further blow to fans who were crushed by season seven containing only six episodes while all series prior had contained ten episodes.
To add further insult to injury, the eight and final instalment of the epic will also contain only six episodes for the plot to be tied together in.
With more waiting time for diehard viewers, undoubtedly more wild theories will emerge as to what could happen when everything comes to blows.
