We learn a lot about design from the world around us, looking at different things and how to make them better. Ideas can come from anywhere and in order to design something new, we use our intellect step by step to make your design work more efficiently. I call this progressive design approach through prototyping.
The three main components of a good game are
- Art – The innovative characters you design that live in the game can become more lively by some good art. Pixel art or 3d art, the aesthetics of any game is built on the characters that live within it. The details is what puts life into a character within the game.
- Mechanics – Mechanics can range from how the virtual world reacts to different environments. It defines how something behaves when an event happens. The mechanics define the character movements and the things they can do in the game.
The movement of enemies, different players and the game logic that drives the entire behaviour of the game. It is what puts a player in the shoes of the game character.
- Special Effects – Special effects make the game more interesting, like a fire burning in a cave or the effect of bullet going out of a gun, or the player footsteps in a jungle or mud. All of these special effects take you into the world that the game designer thought of in his imaginative mind.
The above three components are the most important things that make up a game and should be part of the game design document. The game design document then has assets, the drivers that drive the game.
I want to hear what you will design today.

A nice first article, thanks. I'm more of a musician than a game designer (I'm no Hideo Kojima :-D) however I am interested in reading about game design.
