Good morning my followers welcome to another post more than "The Virtual Kitchen" this time not from Caracas but Bogotá. Right now I am beginning to settle and collecting money to replace my equipment but I will not stop talking about the games that I like and they have marked my life like the one we are going to talk about next, one of the kings of the strategy in time Real (apart from Starcraft 2) and logo of my blog, I'm talking about Dawn of War II. But first let's see what the wikipedia review tells us:
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II is a video game belonging to the genre of a real-time strategy game, with elements of other tactical role-playing games, developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ, for Microsoft Windows and based on the fictional universe of Warhammer 40000. It is the sequel to the Warhammer 40,000 videogame: Dawn of War and part of its series of video games. Dawn of War II was released in North America on February 19, 2009, and in Europe on February 20, 2009.
The first expansion titled Chaos Rising was announced on September 18, 2009 in a game magazine podcast.

I came to this game many years ago when I played its first Dawn of War version, then I found out that the game had several expansions but I will tell you about that game in another post. You will see the story of how I got this original game is very curious, since at the time when we had access to the dollar in Venezuela I decided to buy the Dawn of War in English by Amazon, but by accident when not reading the information I bought the Dawn of War II, when I arrived a month I was surprised to realize that I was wrong and that there was another saga. At that time I did not have the equipment to play it, so I had to wait a few months to re-boost my PC so I could play it.
My first impression of the game was the campaign where you could play alone or multiplayer (I never did it xD), divided into two sagas, the original and the expansion; one where you fight against a race called Tiranidos (a new race for me) and in the second campaign against the Marines of Chaos, I was surprised that they did not campaign against the Orks, but assuming it was because you already have one in the original they did not want repeat the story again.
When entering the campaign you will access a tutorial, since the game, despite being a real-time strategy, does not keep much of the previous one, you can no longer build buildings or fold units, you only have your heroes who have their own personal units and level up you can specialize, to put teams and decide whether they will be body to body or distance fighters.
One of the differences in the campaigns is that you will have access to 5 planets in the first and in the second campaign to 6 planets, a world of ice and chaos called Aurelia.
Another characteristic of the campaign is that you will have to access strategic points in the missions that will give you some advantage in the game such as communication towers, forges, reliquaries, etc. But you will also have to defend them in special missions and if you lose them you will take a long time to recover them.
In the second campaign your decisions will be based on what the machine says (if you decide to destroy something or not, or save someone) and depending on that you will be pure in the eyes of the emperor or you will be infected with chaos, affecting the end of the game .
Also in the second campaign we will have access to another character called Jonah, a Techno Librarian (he is like a magician, with different branches of abilities, healing, harmful or buffing).
The icons of recharge in the two versions of the game change, since when using special abilities these are spent and you would have to look for them in the game breaking boxes of supplies, but in the second campaign they separated the abilities in several categories, making the icons of Recharge instead of being one were several, making the game a little more complicated but entertaining.
But not everything is campaign nothing else, we will also have access to skirmishes, where we can choose a hero of any race and play against the PC or other players. Create a small army and choose the game conditions to win.
We have the option of painting armies, so that you personalize them to your liking and have a unique style when playing against others.
If you do not like the skirmish you have another style of combat called Final Battle, where you can choose your hero in battles with other players, gain experience and improve it, both in team and skills.
Pro:
Excellent game engine, good graphics, impeccable sound quality, actions with characters that are not limited, the truth is many good things that this game has.
Cons:
A fatal bug that has in the second campaign that forces one of your heroes off the map and you can not use against a boss ... otherwise I have no complaints.
Conclusion:
It's an excellent game, the Warhammer 40,000 franchise is one of the ones I liked the most, I recommend that if you want to enjoy it as a fan you are playing it from the first version with the expansions and then you get hard against this game, since in the campaigns they refer to previous events and it is good to understand them to see the excellentness of the plot.
