Oh crap. Yeah, forget that. I am sure you could get them off of Ebay cheaper than that (even if you have to watch and wait). That is ridiculous, $10 for a pack of two cards. Wow.
Yeah its kind of ridiculous the markup that some of these thrift shops out here in new york get away with, taking advantage of people who think they are getting a bargain. Before putting anything out for sale they check ebay and amazon and whatever the highest price people are asking for stuff they just slap that price on their items. Nowhere near what actually sells for and what it's worth. All stuff that's donated to them for free. I won't even get into the used clothing prices. Shady stuff dude.
We are about the opposite down here in Arkansas. Probably due to having so many colleges, and people moving to other states for college (catch 22 of sorts), we see a lot of stuff go up for sale. Thrift stores see tons of electronics, toys, books. Yard sales are truly a crap shoot but, for the most part, worth the time to check them out.
People don't price their stuff at Ebay prices (unless you visit a used game store like Game X Change or Gamestop) so it is easy to get a deal.
I bought a Nuon DVD player a few years ago. $10, with remote (no controllers though). Sold on Ebay before I got home for $125 (auction that started at $10). Sold as in the bidding hung at $125 for the three day auction so I consider that sold.
Another yard sale yielded me a Fairchild Channel F for $15, included 11 games and an official carrying case. Sold online for over $150 a few days later.
If you ever get a chance to visit the south, ala American Pickers, you might find it a worthwhile trip.
That's insane, definitely good finds. It's different because we are out there putting in our time to search and find these items. I have my brother down in Florida and some of the stuff he comes across at prices I'm sitting here scratching my head like "what the.." Soon enough I'll be out of NY, it's turned into a black pit swallowing hole for anything green.
@chriscrypto (since we apparently hit the end of the reply system here). I agree, that area of the United States is definitely unique, particularly where you live. Get out of there and look into other states that may be more fruitful for what you want out of life. No use living somewhere that is toxic like that.
Open a pack or two and show us which ones these were. I see some are Movie Photo Cards but what are the others?
