I think most video games are a waste of time, they aren't in the real world, but also smoking is a waste of time, and is worse than video games, everyone has their vice, ours is gaming. And whether some of us want to admit it or not, we are all addicted to something.
I mean I have better control over my video game rationing than most smokers and gamblers do, so in the end my vice negatively affects me much less than anyone else's.
That doesn't mean I've tried to be without any and all addictions before, I've gone a few years of my 16 years on this planet (about 2) where I did almost nothing, I quit games, I read constantly, I worked out every day, I ran every day, I did everything the exact moment it was assigned no procrastination, among other smaller things like going out of my way to help anyone I felt was feeling under and spending time with my family even when I didn't want to.
But, what I realized in all of that time, was that while I felt incredibly higher and more important than some people, I didn't really change from where I'm at now other than I found out that I can do anything, but that I already know what I want to do, and there is no point in straying from that path unless absolutely necessary. That is my opinion on the subject, I like games, I like lifting, I like running, and I also like to read occasionally, not everything I like is good, but just about no-one is perfect.
