A few years ago I could pass one of the most interesting titles I've played, I speak of Bioshock Infinite, in my short life I have been able to play a wide range of videogames from any Sony console, I can name many but in this case I will only talk about one the rest will be able to read them in my next posts.
If someone has not yet played it from now on we activate the SPOILER ALERT!
First we go with the basics of the game, the third installment of the famous saga of Bioshock was a resounding change for the fans, but certainly not disappointed and I can even say with certainty that he has been the best of the three. Second the game unfolds in a city in the heavens, Columbia, this city is under a theocratic government to seize power and to try to divide society into different factions by race, something like the Nazism of Germany in World War II.
In the video game you are Booker DeWitt, an unemployed detective who was hired by more than peculiar characters to rescue Elizabeth our co-star, who has been kidnapped and trapped by the power his father and governor of this city Zachary Hale Comstock, our antagonist It is shown as a kind of all-powerful prophet, which through religion maintains an order in the city that is currently in a civil war.
Elizabeth has a very interesting power, can create a kind of window in the timeline, simplifying a bit can see what happened and what is going to happen at any moment in the story in addition to having knowledge about other dimensions, at this point the thing It is already tangled. Elizabeth, despite living "well" wanted to leave her prison, could not resist the idea of visiting other places and leaving her total confinement and the surveillance of her GREAT friend, Songbird, a giant mechanical bird that was created to take care of and watch over our co-star.
Our friend Booker DeWitt finds it easily and when he tries to rescue it we are involved in a perfect story, although it is not the type of game of many, we must give credit to who deserves it, betrayals, confrontations, revolutions and great references to the evil that sects, excessive publicity and racism can cause in the human being.
But, why do I write about this game for you steemians?
That end, after so much fighting, leaving the city to ash, killing Comstock, releasing Elizabeth and even SongBird finished our ally but then kill him, makes this story worthy of a Novel or at least a movie, they I count because.
Much earlier we killed Comstock, however we needed to escape from the city by a hot air balloon where we were with the last but NUMEROUS enemies that were, to defeat them all having SongBird as an ally, it was necessary to destroy the entire city to know why of everything that we had passed, after destroying the city's nucleus, Songbird comes to attack us but Elizabeth opens a portal quickly that transports us to the bottom of the sea, to a city under the water where Bioschock was developed before.
The bird is outside the city and is in the water is where it takes place a more than dramatic farewell and our friend dies, it is at this point that EVERYTHING becomes complicated, it turns out that Elizabeth with greater knowledge of his powers after destroy Columbia, is able to show us an infinity of doors, those doors represent each a different dimension, with different past and consequences but warns us that no matter which we enter the infinite that there are, all come to the same point.
What is that point? It is a moment in history where our protagonist Booker DeWitt tired of his sins decides to be baptized and become religious, however, our protagonist does not accept this reality and refuses to be "saved", which makes us return to the stage of the doors, where it does not matter how many multiverses there are, they all take us to the moment of baptism, this is when we understand everything.
It turns out that Booker DeWitt and Comstock are the same person, it happens that when Booker was hired this was brought to the dimension where Comstock was the prophet and owner of Columbia, that is, we were in the world where Booker decided to be baptized and take by name Zach Comstock .
In the middle of the scene where we discover the whole truth, different Elizabeth's come together from different multiverses, which tell us that there is only one option, to die, at the moment of receiving the baptism in the river they take us by the arms and drown us . In this way our journey ends. Putting an end to the paradox and closing that endless cycle from which we could never leave.
For this reason the game is called Bioshock Infinite, interesting do not you think?
One of my favorite games. There is a small amount of games i play through multiple times, this is one of them. The story is a big reason to play through again to actually understand everything. Nice post!
