Loosely, both these games are simulators with a simple concept. You use resources to create some finished products.
The games have differences and intricacies. Ultimately the 'season end' rewards are the biggest prize. You compete against other players for a reward. Your reward depends on what other people produce. It's relative.
This is very important, to actually KNOW what other people are producing. That's transparency for the casual player.
In the case of @dCrops (https://dcrops.com), the leaderboard is clear. You know where you stand, and what you might have to do to move up for one of the rewards:
These are real NFT assets that are being used to compete. You grow crops!
On the other hand, @cryptobrewmaster has no such leaderboard. I don't even think the 'ingredients' are NFT! I can't list them on nft.mart. I asked about this and got banned from discord. No clear answer to the question still. I really do believe it's a gimmick without NFT, but just a crypto-denominated market, trading centralized server items. I can't suggest you ask, you could get banned for questioning the integrity.
But it gets worse. There is no leaderboard. You can't see where you stand in the weekly quest. Running these quests at a profit is the whole reason you should play. Without knowing where people stand, you're likely to end up somewhere with a loss. It's all obfuscated somewhere, I'm sure. You would have to be able to scrape and compile blockchain data. Do you want to do that? The developer surely knows, and he does often win himself. And his guild dominates most of the other top spots.
I can't play a game without a transparent leaderboard. I can't play where your assets are not NFT. We have no way to see what REALLY goes on. The transparency of blockchain is unclear. Players are not being obliged.
It's now clear, in the case of crypto brewmaster, that the plan was to sell more and more 'boosters' and operate the rewards in darkness. A lucrative trap, I'm sure. This is why the developer is involved in at least 2 other very similar games. NEXT!
I am slowly working on selling crypto brewmasters as the user base shrinks. I have a lot! I spent 1 month of my life and lots of money grinding the game. Then I realized the problems.
Anyways, to dCrops, my strategy is to buy up the coin, CROP, as cheaply as possible until the packs are almost sold out, then buy up those and other low-priced lands (player market).
So that's that; 2 similar games. One understands the player's needs with transparent gameplay. The other, does not. I suspect it will take months for me to sell 1000s and 1000s of resources on crypto brewmaster and move to dCrops. I can't wait! I hope dCrops get listed on dappradar.com too, so I can see progress. Transparency please!
If there's a single person here that plays crypto brewmaster and has faith it will succeed, I can extend to you my offer.
All of my ingredients for 35% less than the cost to produce them. And well under current market value.
Anxious to see if there's a single fan out there who will 'invest' as I did, months ago. I honestly doubt it. They'll brush me off as being a troll, and use an excuse to avoid bailing me out :)
There's so much more I left out! One of the main things is currency.
dCrops has an inflationary currency, with a clear and predictable plan to create a reward system based on this currency. Inflation, in this case, is a 'necessary evil' to have a reward system. There is no glass cealing. Players can value the game at whatever they want because of the expectation of rewards/reinvestment/increasing players.
A well-managed inflationary currency, with the future laid out in a clear way is all-important to these games!
Again, crypto brewmaster has no such plan in place. Not transparency in regard to the most important aspects! No clue how to create value for the casual player. I fully expect players to get surprise-screwed at the most perfect time (for them). That is, realizing their currency/reward management won't work for the long term.
The key is transparency and predictablity. This brings the big investors. The more 'immutable' you can make your reward system, the better. And yes, this invovles laying out modifications for increased player base.
