Here you'll find multiplayer strategies for both solo play and joining squads, as well as tips for surviving the single-player War Stories mode and Combined Arms co-op missions.
In the Closed Alpha, only two multiplayer modes are available on a single map, Narvik. This page will help you find your way to success in both modes.
LEARN THE MAP
In the Closed Alpha, you only have one map to learn in Narvik, as mentioned above. Your first few matches should be spent learning the ins and outs of the battlefield. Find the best spots to hide, set up camp and shoot from. Knowing the best spots on the map will help you to learn where to hide as well as where to attack from.
STICK WITH YOUR SQUAD
Like other games before it, Battlefield V drops you into a four-person squad in multiplayer. Stay as close to your squad as possible, letting them watch your back and sides while you return the favor.
REVIVE YOUR SQUADMATES
Both Conquest and Grand Operations feature battles of attrition, meaning they start with a set number of spawns for your entire team, and if you run out of them, you lose. However, if you can manage to revive a fallen teammate before they bleed out, your team doesn't lose that spawn. Taking care of your wounded allies is every bit as important as taking enemy soldiers out.
BE SNEAKY
Narvik is littered with secrets and shortcuts. Seeking out secret passages, tunnels and the like will help you maintain an edge over your enemies, especially when trying to capture objectives and hold them. Look for drainage pipes, wrecked buildings and other environmental cover to complete your objectives while remaining out of sight.
CAPTURE OBJECTIVES INSIDE BUILDINGS
In Conquest, you'll be capturing objectives, and you can actually do it while you're safely tucked away indoors. Wherever you can (like in the drainage pipe on Objective C in Narvik), crawl inside a small safe space and wait for the points to come rolling in. Having a wall to your back means there's one less place to get shot from, and if you lay prone inside the building, you might get the drop on an enemy with the same idea.
PICK THE RIGHT CLASS FOR THE RIGHT MODE
Before you dive in, make sure you've selected the right class. Each class has unique loadouts and abilities, meaning it's critical you make the right choices. Keep an eye on what the rest of your squad is using, too. If they're all assault, choose an engineer or medic; they'll need it.
ALWAYS BRING A MEDIC
You can be revived by anyone, but medics can do it the fastest. Revivals can take awhile, so If you take our advice and stick to with your crew, you're going to want someone that can bring you back from the brink of death along for the ride.
USE ALL YOUR WEAPONS
Every class has a primary weapon, sidearm, knife and a pair of class-specific gadgets. Use everything at your disposal to take down your enemies. The Assault class, for instance, has a rocket launcher, while the medic can revive downed teammates with a syringe. Knowing what you have and making use of it can make the difference between victory and defeat.
USE VOICE CHAT
Both Conquest and Grand Operation absolutely require teamwork. As such, communicating with your squad is key. Playing this without a microphone or headset is your going to cost you.
STAY IN COVER
Narvik is a huge map full of open expanses and flanked by structures. A lot of the area is primed for both snipers and assault types to get the drop on you. As you make your way around the map, stick to cover to avoid getting picked off from a distance.
USE VEHICLES WISELY
In Conquest, you'll have a set number of planes and tanks you can deploy. Many players will rush to these, but if you can get your team to agree to save them until you've wiped out the enemy's supply, you'll enjoy an advantage they might not see coming.
