Hallo ivan - no i thougt about the theory above that a serious Game turns from a Game into a simple used 'resource' of it is Part of a Gamification Framework that is Set 'above' it. If this Leads to an impact of the Users life and is not Used Voluntarily

hi kevinwong, thanks to your contribution.

regarding my understanding serious games are games (of all kind) with a meaningful experiences added to it. If they are used free of choice without real life consequences like grading at school they are still games as an item.

Serious Play is for me the terminology from the players perspective. I use this term mainly talking about role play.

My question is more the following:

If a serious game (as an item) is used from an instructur within a gamification framework. What happens with the nature of the serious game itself (as an item) used non voluntary and with impact to the life of the player (e.g. failing an exam). At that moment a serious game loses its main aspects to be called a game. It becomes part of an examination process and that might! take even the fun aspect out of the game. It also eliminates one of the core aspects of gaming the freedom to test things without having consequences outside the famous magic circle. For me this is a very important question. And transfering my thoughts into english might not be helpful to exactly describe my trains of thoughts. But I try my best :). Thanks again Kevin :).
