Star Wars Battlefront II
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... Since the first time I watched my very first Star Wars movie, which was, the Empire Strikes Back, I fell completely in love with this magical tale of a young farm boy, who became the most epic hero. This was more than likely the same feeling, millions of young boys and girls, and even adults all over the world had, after being emerged into the universe that is Star Wars. Today, 41 years after the world was introduced to episode 4, A New Hope, it has become a house hold name. The story didn’t stop there, with 2018 ushering in episode 8, books, animated TV series, and billions of toys, all expanding the Star Wars universe, bigger and bigger. Which brings us to video games, and boy are there many when it comes to this series.
The first ever Star Wars video game I played was the 1987, Namco developed game for the Nintendo Family Computer, basically the first console I had ever seen, click here to have a look at what gaming looking like all those many years ago. There were hundreds of video games made for the the franchise, some did really well others were complete flops. We have really come a long way, when we look back at where this all started, with gaming in general, and especially with Star Wars.
This year, Santa brought me a brand new shiny game for Christmas, Star Wars Battlefront 2, well it wasn't really Santa, it was @princessmewmew, but don't tell her I know. I have been playing this game non stop for most of the holidays, and it has been so much fun.
You are all pretty familiar with the Battlefront series and for those not so clued up, I'll give you a short summary of what it's all about. The original Star Wars Battlefront game series, normally revolve around two armies from either side, like Galactic Republic versus the Rebel Alliance, fighting each other on various maps. This original game launched in 2004 and developed by LucasArts, was a single player, first person shooter, where players take on the role of the humble soldier in the front lines of battle.
Welcome to the 2017, Star Wars Battlefront 2, the basics of the original game are still in tack only this time, graphics are next to life like. It feels like you are literally part of the movie, and as a Star Wars fan there is no better feeling.

One of the best and main features of this game, is the multiplayer, it is probably the most notable reason for the success of this series. Star Wars Battlefront II has five multiplayer game modes with the largest supporting up to 40 simultaneous players at a time. Playing with actual other players from around the world makes for a much more realistic gaming experience.
One of the major differences with this game compared to the previous game from 2015, is a character customization class system, and content based on The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi movies. What I haven't mentioned to those who don't know the game, you are able to take control of the vehicles from the original, prequel, and sequel Star Wars movie trilogies. One of the most enjoyable games mode for me was the Starfighter Assault, where you are in the cockpit of you favorite Xwing or TIE Fighter taking place in space and planetary atmospheres. I left the best for last, you are also able to play as one of your most loved heroes or villains. The hero roster includes Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Yoda, and Rey, while the villain roster includes Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett, Bossk, Iden Versio, Darth Maul, and Kylo Ren.
This game, unlike Battlefront 1, includes a full campaign story mode which follows the story of Iden Versio, leader of an Imperial Special Forces group known as Inferno Squad. So far I am thoroughly enjoying the story, which takes place after Return Of The Jedi and the 30 years leading up to The Force Awakens. There are multiple encounters with some of the most loved character like Luke, Leia and even Kylo Ren. It's a complete story that happens during the story you have come to know so well, and truly gives you that nostalgic feeling. If you are following my blog you would have seen the most I made about the The Last Jedi movie that was just released, please be aware there are major spoilers, and if you want my thoughts on it click here but you have been warned.
Star Wars Battlefront II is an action shooter, in first or third person, and a heavily multiplayer driven game. If you don't have a really great internet connection rather save your Steem dollars on something less dependent on online connectivity. The game was developed by the good people at EA DICE, who brought you the epic Battlefield franchise as well as the latest Medal of Honor, one could say they are very good at making war. Battlefront 2 is also fairly new, and was released just over a month ago in November, it available on the standard platforms for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. You could wait a month or two, and maybe get this title on a bit of a discount.
I should just let you know that on release this game received widespread criticism, regarding the internal market where you could buy better equipment and gear, which could give players substantial gameplay advantages if they purchased them with real money.

This one looked a lot better than the first for the remakes, watched someone stream it and looked like fun. The original two were always the best though!
The original two were the absolute best. I'm not sure what they didn't capture in the news ones but... I don't know. I couldn't get into the last one. It was just missing that drive that kept me going. I was always wanting to get better stats or unlock the better weapons in the originals, but unlocking stuff in the new ones just feels like a chore.
they also had no loot boxes
I am excited to see the post of this game and immediately begin to write my thoughts. :))The graphics of the game may be the most successful graphics I have ever seen. The color palette in the vote is very hot. This is a big contributor to a more successful atmosphere. Especially Takadona and Yavin 4 maps can be said from the places that have the most eye as atmosphere. The character animations are also very successful. the strange animations of the heroes in the first round are strange to the players, in the new castle they are standing on their feet and a good result emerged. Like most players, my single-shot explosion effects take a little time, which slows down a crowded field game and hurts the game.I definitely recommend your play.. @adsactly

Look, not much, EA Games at the end of August made a statement. In this statement, the company's policy changed and "Now player happiness is at the forefront ...". As a matter of fact, none of us have been bothered by these words and EA Games has been deceived by us. From FIFA 18 to Need for Speed Payback and now to Battlefront II, we all feel the negative impact of micro-shopping in each case. @adsactly

Big Star Wars fan here, played Battlefront 1 a lot and I was really excited for battlefront 2 ,graphics and sound are just beautiful, they really know how to create the star wars feeling but those microtransactions and star cards just destroyed this game for me.
It was my highlight for 2017 before the game come out and become my biggest disappointment of the year after I played it.
Maybe because I was hoping for a star wars game build on battlefield .
Nevertheless I play It casual and it can make fun if you ignore some of the bad things.

I loved BattleFront I, this game looks leeeeeeegit! The space domination is epic, do they still have that Galactic Conquest mode? Where you mission around to different planets garrisoning your troops and enforcing your wills/beliefs?

I really want to play this for the campaign as I am an addict for Star Wars Canon content... But I can't bring myself to give EA any more of my money. Microtransactions have been the death of gaming for me. I also felt that the first one was incredibly boring once you got over the amazing graphics and Star Wars sounds.. I will still hold a special place in my heart for the old Battlefronts and other Star Wars games. Good memories from my childhood.
Question for you and anyone else: what was your favourite Star Wars game? I have amazing memories on SWTOR but still can't beat Rouge Squadron on the N64.

I want to start off by saying this is a great game. The graphics are amazing, the battle points system is a good way to get heroes and vehicles (not like the crappy pickups that were in the last game), and how it has all eras.

Star Wars Battlefront II is truly interesting.
I was ready to dive in. I thought EA and DICE would fix things. and it almost seemed like they were listening. I want to play a new good AAA Star Wars game but as a gamer I feel like we must fight against these companies and their microtransactions.

I was so disappointed with the new versions of the game... I played the originals with the crappy programmed A.I. bots and loved it... It was so much more fun to have computers that you were able to take out along the way and how battles were a numbers game.. I spent 60$ to buy it when it came out (SBF2) and I was so disappointed that they took that completely out.. I was hoping it'd be integrated as a MOBA-esque feature.. (Lane minions, etc.) but they just said "fuck it" and that lost me for that franchise. If i wanted a shitty call of duty ripoff.. I would've bought something like battlefield lol. Unfortunately, some things, some ideas, some features, shouldn't be removed, but that is beyond the players.. especially when what you like is considered a "niche" cuz not everyone played the original and experienced it as you had. :(
This game was the biggest disapointment in gaming at least for 2017.It has great mechanics, nice gameplay, short but interesting story, but those microtransactions ruined everything. First when i saw it i thot that this will be the best EA game released from a while, unfortunatedly it was prabably the worst one because of them. You cant just release half the product and lock big chunks of the game bihaind a LOT of grind and hope players will pay to speed up that proces . In concludion the game has it's pros but it has more cons. Lets just hope that this hapend for good and no more shit like that gets released.

My son is a young farm boy, we do hay here and some vegetables but all he wants to do is swordfight and play video games. He LOVES Star Wars. First of all, is this a bad thing, we as parents are worried. Second of all, is this game friendly for someone under 8 yrs old? By friendly we mean easy to play and understand if he can't read yet?
This is a very nice post, i love it.
For people who are not so young we have managed to see such an impressive technological evolution. From a video game like Mario Bross to these current games that almost transport you to that magical world. I would love to participate in the design and programming of video games.
