Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Welcome back to your weekly game fix here at ADSactly, this week we are taking a trip back to one of my most loved game franchises, Assassins Creed.

The games have always been really well rounded, with a good balance of all aspects that make it a wonderful experience to play. If you are the kind of casual gamer who mostly just plays the main story, this is an amazing game and you will feel like you have gotten your money's worth. Then for those of you who have a tad bit of O.C.D and who want to complete everything, much like myself, Assassin's has got you covered. All the games in the franchise have side quests for days, and one can easily get lost for ages solving puzzles and hunting down those annoying treasure chests scattered all over the world. I must say, I am very proud to have fully completed every one of the Assassin's Creed games that I have played. The only exception to my Assassin's accomplishments is the last game, Origins, which also happened to be the second game I reviewed for the Adsactly blog, you can check it out here.

So before I get really deep into Syndicate, I feel I need to come clean about my last Assassin's experience.

I will say that the last game Assassin's Creed Origins did miss the bar somewhat, looking back now, when I initially wrote the review I had only been playing the game for a few days and the nostalgia was still very strong. Just for the record I also very much blame Christmas for making everything all festive and exciting. I have since very much changed my opinion on Origins, early game was great as you discover the new world and all the lore that comes along with it. The disconnect I think was the unrelatable history in which Origins was set, early Egypt during the Ptolemaic period around 47 BC to be precise. The driving force behind most of the Assassin's games is the historical aspect, and how the story weaves in between actual historical event and fantasy. This becomes seemingly a little harder when most of what we know about this timeline is mostly fragments that have been pieced together by historians. This in my opinion makes it just another story, and looses that connection to reality that all the other games in the series had.

Our story this time begins with the Helix player in present day, who is tasked by the Assassin Brotherhood to relive the memories of twin Assassins, in order to track down a Piece of Eden hidden in London.

Once inside the memory, the year is 1868 somewhere outside of London and here is where we meet our protagonists, Jacob and Evie Frye. Both of the twins are on separate missions tracking down the Templar's who have a Piece of Eden in their possession. Jacob is tasked with assassinating a corrupt factory boss and finding out how deeply infiltrated the Templars have become in London. Evie tracks down an occultist who might have the sacred object, upon sneaking into a Templar lab, she find the Piece of Eden being experimented on. She assassinates the occultist, who before dying tells Evie that a prominent Templar knows of a second, more powerful Piece of Eden hidden in London. Before she is able to retrieve the first object, it becomes unstable and explodes, Evie makes it out just in the nick of time. The twins meet up and decide to disobey the direct orders of the Brotherhood and go to London to take car of the Templar problem. The Frye twins have very different ideas on how to liberate London, Jacob advocates that they take the fight straight to the Templars, while Evie advises they find the Piece of Eden first.

"The Creed of the Assassin Brotherhood teaches us that nothing is forbidden to us. Once, I thought that meant we were free to do as we would. To pursue our ideals, no matter the cost. I understand now. Not a grant of permission. The Creed is a warning. Ideals too easily give way to dogma. Dogma becomes fanaticism. No higher power sits in judgement of us. No supreme being watches to punish us for our sins. In the end, only we ourselves can guard against our obsessions. Only we can decide whether the road we walk carries too high a toll. We believe ourselves redeemers, avengers, saviours. We make war on those who oppose us, and they in turn make war on us. We dream of leaving our stamp upon the world... even as we give our lives in a conflict that will be recorded in no history book. All that we do, all that we are, begins and ends with ourselves." - Arno Dorian

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in my book is probably the most fun I’ve had with an Assassin’s game since being the pirate Edward Kenway from Black Flag.

The two games rank right at the top of my Assassin's Creed ladder, the game has a brilliant and humorous undertone and for the most part nothing is taken too seriously. The absolute best part of the game for me was, the Charles Dickens side-missions. Where you accompany the novelist to expose fraudsters, catch hypnotists, visit London's most haunted house, and even have a really awesome supernatural encounter.

London itself was masterfully brought to life, although at first it felt rather ugly as most of the slums where you start off is this grimy, industrialized part of the city with the poorest of the poor. Then as you explore more you find London’s legendary train stations and its magnificent cathedrals, walking through the foggy street at night has a very Sherlock Holmes mystery feel, and I love that.

The game is pretty much the same as what we have come to expect from an Assassin's game, with a few new additions. You can now commandeer a horse and buggy GTA style, and there are even races to take part in. What I really loved is the brand new grapple gun, which makes scaling those tall buildings a lot faster and easier. I have very little to moan about, and seeing as I played this a while back, I can't think of a single negative aspect, which is a good thing.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the same folks who are to blame for all the games in the series, save the first two.

The game was released on October 2015, and is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on Microsoft Windows. I played about three hours of it yesterday just to get a feel for it again, and Syndicate is still up there with games that were released this year. Seeing as this is already almost three years old, chances are you will find this for dirt cheap at your local game store and online. This will be the ninth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and the successor to 2014's Assassin's Creed Unity.

I give Assassin's Creed Syndicate a rating of 9/10

The Assasin's Creed series is amazing. The graphics are off the chart and the storylines are so engaging. I have played most of the games and my son loves them. I bought him several of the games a few years ago for Christmas and he was hooked. He buys the latest installment every time they come out now. I think I might want to go home and play a little myself now.

Yeah come on do it, go play the game, then we can stay up late swapping manly Assassin’s Creed stories, and in the morning...

I like the number 13, obviously. But 13 copy/paste crap comments means 13 flags. It is a nice number.

Big fan of the series, this Assassin's Creed is clearly not the best of the series but it remains a very good surprise. Yes surprise because the trailers and different opinions of journalists were very scary. He largely catches the failure that was Unity.

  • Graphically still as beautiful as Unity, the light effects are very realistic as well as the animation of the characters which is very successful. Technically it's very very good, the bugs are far less numerous than Unity, (yes, but absolutely nothing alarming), the framerate is stable, some falls during the chases but absolutely nothing that spoils the fun of the game .
  • The gameplay is successful, not so many bugs about parkour, it is more accurate, more responsive. The infiltration is simpler than before, the X key to bend down and put on his hood is welcome, the character is more manageable and he goes to cover easily.
The grapple is not welcome in the series, it takes a big part of the parkour and removes a fun side. It's easy and fast, maybe too much. However it is adapted to the environment, it is justified and necessary.
The fights are not the best but they are very dynamic and rather tactical. But objectively it's the middle ground between Unity's boring and tough fights and the easy ACIII and AC Black Flag fights.
One of the big negatives of the game is driving the carts ... A nice mess but it was predictable. These are still justified, without them the trip to the city would be much longer and tiring. But they are not manageable, we hit the whole city destroying everything, not to mention the chases, we advance almost with the posts, people, carts stopped, those who move, the more your attackers who chase you by hitting you and shooting at you ... In short, as soon as we can, we go down to screw them up in combat.
  • The big big highlight of the game lies in its main characters. Jacob and Evie are super endearing, charismatic, Jacob is pretty funny and Evie attractive. You can switch at will between the two main missions.
  • The scenario is rather banal, simple to follow, some passages stand out but it's not unforgettable crazy crazy (unlike AC II and III).
  • The management of the attributes on each of the characters is pushed and it is the same for our band. The inventory is customizable and pretty, not very varied, however.

In short it's a good game, a good surprise, I enjoy my hours of play unlike Unity. Many people bash the game without having played it is pitiful. JVC's rating is far too severe for me, 13 should have been for Unity.
But as a big fan who respects myself I expect a murderer's creed that will be worked from top to bottom, all points mentioned above will be successful and it is possible Ubisoft has already done. With of course a big advance in the meta history, revelations and suspense!

I agree Syndicate was not the best, but the failure of Unity did have some positive and negative effects on the series as you mentioned. I kinda feel that Origins has gone down the same path as Unity to a degree, only in the case of Origins they tried too hard, added way too much and didn’t focus on what the essence of an Assassin’s game should be.

I really like this post, it's a game that really captivated me, now well:

The main formula of the game is preserved, and although it brings some important changes in the gameplay by the time it makes us visit, the structure of its missions and activities in the open world is preserved in a very similar way to how the franchise has been working since its origins. In a nutshell, we're looking at an Assassin's Creed in every sense of the word, that's what I think I like most about the game, it's very realistic in that respect.

I'll be honest with you, I started Syndicate with very low expectations, but the game gradually conquered me by different elements such as how well structured is its campaign, its protagonists who in my opinion are the best of the series after Ezio, and above all, the incredibly detailed recreation of the city of London in the midst of the industrial revolution in 1868, that was really impressive.

Of all the Assassin's Creeed games I've played, Syndicate is the closest delivery to our times, as several technological advances of the time made me feel very different from the rest of the games, both from a visual and a gameplay point of view.

The game also has a transition system between day and night, and one thing I liked about it was that people's activities really change, for example, you can see how the taverns get crowded when the sun goes down and people don't walk the streets as easily as they do during the day.

In short, it's a game that I would recommend playing, it's really incredible. Greetings from Venezuela to the entire @adsactly community, I am constantly supporting all the writers.

Thank so very much for comment, yeah I think we all started the game expecting like what we got in Unity, but regardless of all the mixed reviews, I really enjoyed this one. I personally still think Black Flag was the best, if you ignore how many times you had to jump off the ship swim to an tiny island to grab a chest.

Thanks to you for the post friend, even though we have different game preferences, you have to enjoy both. @morkrock

This is how your rep goes down to the negative numbers.... just saying, but keep it up if you really have to.

Graphics of this game really very good, can I play it on iPhone or some other mobile? Because I have no time to use for PC, and for witness vote what can i do for you ? Plz little bit guide me, Thanks

Unfortunately this game is only available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Don’t think phones are there yet, when it comes to running a huge game like this.

Joss game ...............I have enjoyed this game .. still I play it when I get free times...

It is my favorite game. really amazing games

I like a series of games about the assassin. This game was no exception and continued to please fans. I see both advantages and disadvantages in this game. In particular, pay attention to graphics. The graphics in this game is good and therefore the game from the first minutes brings pleasure. In addition, the weather was also surprisingly attractive. Rains and the change of day and night are trumps. Although there are people who found the schedule bad.

Of the pluses, you can also highlight the gameplay. To play not for one character but for two! The battle of twins has a different character under the characters. For me, this is a good plus. Omnibuses have caused doubts since they are slow enough and knock everything around. You can drive them in the style of GTA, just hit the driver and leave :)
The game is definitely for fans of this genre. On the whole, it turned out to be interesting and varied. Attention deserves. Thank you!

Nice review. I wish I could play this game, but the last time I bought a game console was six years ago and it was a PlayStation 2 😭😭😭😭

Me gusta mucho su publicación.. te sigo siempre..

I just wish these games were released in PC through steam. Why is it so hard to give us PC gamers these triple A games?

I think they would sell a lot more if they release them for PC. Maybe I'm just jelouse.

Thank you for posting this review looking forward to playing it soon.

woww what a great title friend, thanks for sharing and I would like to play it ;O

Nice review. es de mis juegos favoritos por su contenido histórico

Your post resteemed by @steemch

It is true. between the real historical aspect and the fragments of the historians regarding the games there is a kind of bridge and really loses connection with reality, but well, in general terms the hobby varies.

Nice blog UPVOTE 💪

I recently finished the main campaign and I really enjoyed the story, the gameplay was great even though I struggled to get used to it in the beginning! I kinda lost faith in the series and the last one I enjoyed as AC 3 but this one has me feeling they are back on track and I really look forward to the next one! Great review and I’m sure it will get some sceptics back into the AC franchise

I really like this game, the graphics are also very good, this is the best game I've ever played.
